Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

The employees were great. The food was always cold and the same except in the upgrade restaurants. At one port there were no shuttles or buses and we were not told so if you couldn’t walk dir 30 min in 90 degree weather you didn’t go anywhere because the taxi line was LONG and over an hr wait Couldn’t get by the pool because people would get up early and grab towels to save chairs until they ...

we had 7 days inner passage cruise from Vancouver to Seward. It was our first cruise and we were very excited about it. We had a party of 5 people and booked two staterooms. According to our more experienced friends Norwegian is the best cruise line so we decided to go with them, what a mistake...it is probably our last time with Norwegian. Let me start with the booking process. Since we had ...

We picked the NCL Jewel for its Alaskan itinerary and the fact that it was going to be a rehabbed ship by the time we sailed (we booked more than a year in advance). Before the cruise started the price was reduced drastically, almost half of what we paid but we were only given a $300 credit after waiting on hold 30 minutes. I understand that is their policy but it is a terrible one and a ...

Great itinerary but at high cost!

I chose this cruise due to the great itinerary, and my previous experiences with Norwegian. Unfortunately, NCL has evidently changed some of its policies to benefit itself. One would think that a single passenger would only have to pay a maximum of a 100% Single Supplement. I paid the same as 2 passengers but while they would receive 2 Free at Seas, I only received one. And the amount NCL ...

Not what I expected

I chose this cruise because the dates were good; and I got a balcony stateroom, although I made my plans late. As a first time cruiser, I don't fine them friendly. Same at the store, they are not hiding it. The shore excursion team made some mistakes and the good thing is they were so willing to fix their mistakes. However, one of their mistakes was to send me on a goose chase i.e. the ...

Disappointing Experience

This was a family cruise with a total of 8 family members. NCL was chosen because other family members had previous experience with this Cruise Line. While we had a great time with family, and the excursions were fine, i found the food to be a great disappointment; unless you ate in a specialty restaurant. This being my first larger cruise ship, I was not sure what to expect. Choosing to go to ...

Have had good to great experiences on NCL and decided to give them a go on their inside passage cruise - first time in that area. Contacted my regular NCL rep and he advised that the Jewel would be the best fit. Ship is OLD, I would even say decrepit but paint even badly thrown on paint can hide a lot. The entertainment from the lounge acts to the stage performers were really sub par. So so ...

Last cruise for a long time!

Like most people Alaska cruise is on your bucket list. We have been on 4 cruises with RC, the first 2 were good, then they got progressively worse. Good friends are NCL regulars so we went with them this time. The embarkation process was a nightmare. There were 3 ships leaving at the same time. We were herded like cattle from one waiting area to another. At check in they messed it all up, had to ...

We enjoyed each stop and anytime spent outdoors enjoying Mother Nature. Truly a breathtaking exsperience. The majority of the staff were very unhappy. A few smiled but most seemed despondent. We quickly agreed. There were no good meals. It seemed the food had been left sitting out and was tasteless. There was a few exceptions the pretzel rolls and the chocolate lava cake. None of the meat was ...

Left a lot to be desired

This was my first cruise overall and first trip to Alaska also. Overall the cruise was poor, I thought. The ship is really showing its age, the buffet was basically 1 step above school cafeteria food and the complimentary dining locations were only a little better. Our cabin steward was very good. The pre-cruise hotel was adequate but there was a lot of confusion over how the pier transfer ...
