I had an 18 day cruise/land HA trip to Alaska. The crusing part on Noordam was great in terms of seeing a beatiful scenery. The rest was OK - the food was not that impressive and there were not a lot of activities. The staff was very nice.

The excursions, for the most part were very good, although the timing of getting to and from them was certainly not done for customer convenience. Booked this cruise because HAL markets itself as the Alaska experts (75 years going to AK). What a mistake. The ship was at 70% passenger occupancy but 50% crew occupancy. Customer service was horrendous. There were no assistant waiters in the main dining room, so the waiter cleared the dirty dishes from the tables and then delivered our food (after considerable delay). The guest services ...

We booked this cruise to get home to Australia from North America. We were assured when booking that the ship was to be refurnished in early 2018.

This Holland America line Alaska cruise on the Noordham was sold to us as an add-on to the Rocky Mountaineer experience. Our cabin was an upgrade from the standard cabin Rocky Mountaineer usually books as an add-on.
