Queen Elizabeth is a lovely, well-maintained ship with a nod to the Art Deco style reminiscent of the great ocean liners of the 30's and 40's.
Since food and dining options are a major consideration for us on a cruise, my comments will mainly be about the dining experience.
BRITANNIA DINING ROOM - The food in the main dining room was average; similar to the type of food you would expect to ...
Enjoyed the ship, the people, and the employees. These folks work hard and pull off a logistical feet and make it look easy.
Met most expectations and exceeded them in a number of areas.
Enjoyed the MDR; food and service were great! Yes, the portions are small, just order two if you need to.
Entertainment was very good; not necessarily my style but very good nevertheless. Music ...
We chose this cruise because we had credits from a cancelled European river cruise that was scheduled during Covid. Alaska seemed like a safer bet at the time we had to make a decision for our itinerary. Before the trip I wasn't overly excited about it, but the cruise turned out to be very enjoyable and enlightening. Viking offers exceedingly professional yet friendly service by its employees. ...
My husband and I sailed on the Viking Orion to Alaska on July 10, 2023. The ship is beautiful and so clean! The service was impeccable in all aspects of the ship. The food was excellent. We ate most of our meals in The Restaurant and ordered room service many times for breakfast which was always served promptly, and the order was always complete with hot and cold food. For a buffet, the World Cafe ...
We recently took the July 17, 2023 10 night Alaskan cruise on QUEEN ELIZABETH. Overall, it was a great trip with only a few shortcomings.
Check-in
As Platinum members with Cunard we were able to do priority check-in….but priority check-in doesn’t mean priority boarding. Yes, we whisked through check-in in a matter of minutes, but then we had to sit in a waiting area and wait to board. We sat ...
We sailed on this cruise with a good sized group of friends to celebrate some birthdays. We had a great time overall but were left with a few disappointments at times. Some things that were great - the itinerary, the Cabin and attendants, overall ship cleanliness and conditions.
Some things that were challenging - Their was a push about the ship and lines entertainment. There was only ...
We had sailed on 10+ high-mid-low end cruises, picked the Crown Princess 11 nights sailing to Alaska last minute sailing under my mom's request. This was our 3rd time doing the Alaska itinerary, but my mom wanted something longer than 7 days, return Vancouver and we were familiar with Princess standard from the Japan and New England East Coast itinerary a few years back.
Embarkation was a ...
First of all, we enjoyed our time on the Odyssey, and most of the crew were exceptional. Matt Morgan the Cruise Director kept us informed and made the cruise fun. Most of the crew were professional, attentive and very friendly.
We chose Seabourn for our first cruise because we knew that a small ship was more our style. The ship overall was great, but showing her age. By the way, the Odyssey has ...
We chose this cruise because we had sailed on Cunard twice (before Covid) for a total of 29 nights and the Main Dining Room (MDR) at dinner was almost always exceptional and the two times it was not, it was made right by ordering something else, so we had zero complaints.
We tried Azamara last year and the MDR dinners were awful, so we were gun shy of trying another different cruise line ...
We're an active couple in our 60s; we've wanted to do a cruise to Alaska for a long time; we booking this one because it fit in our schedule and a good last minute deal, we booked it just 3 weeks before sailing.
We've cruised before on NCL and we enjoyed those, but think Celebrity is a notch above.
Embarkation went very smoothly, we had flown into Seattle 2 days ahead and took Amtrak from ...
