Grabbed this cruise as it was being offered at bargain prices. It is a huge ship, providing lots of entertainment and dining choices, but some of these venues (esp the buffet restaurant, Windjammers) became very crowded and noisy.Unlike many other ships we've been on, it was impossible to find a 'quiet corner', other than our cabin balcony.
The cabin was surprisingly spacious and well-furnished ...
A family of 4, 2 Adults & 2 kids, we boarded in Singapore for a 14 night cruise to Sydney. The first 5 days between Singapore and Perth were defiantly the best leg of the journey. The weather was lovely and allowed us to explore the ship and enjoy the activities. There were many pros and cons for this cruise but the pros did out weigh the cons.
Pros:
* Our cabin (cat D1) was lovely and ...
Loved the entertainment. Really top shows ( much better quality than Princess line). Lots to do for all age groups. Food was great. Celebrated my sister's birthday in Wonderland restaurant. Absolutely sensational.
Loved the roller skating and bumper cars but times were too short and shouldve been open much longer especially as they use these actives so heavily in their promo.
As we cruised ...
The ship itself is good, well laid out with plenty of bars and places to relax both in and out of the sun. One criticism of this aspect though – the large Solarium (the adults only area) is entirely enclosed, so if you want to sit in the sun in peace and quiet you can’t (unless some of the glass panels are retractable).
The cabin (deck 6, balcony) seemed a trifle narrower than usual, but it was ...
the ship is new and has some quirky new features (bionic bar, the big arm that takes you into the air high above the ship by the way this is free) but they still allow smoking on the pool deck near the centre pools and kids area which most passengers cannot believe as you have to walk through this stinking area to get to the wind jammers if you are coming from the front of the ship, RCCL should ...
This was our first cruise with royal Caribbean and were very excited to do this cruise. The ship was beautiful and never felt crowded. The rooms were well laid out. The shows were excellent and I loved the adults only solarium .
Meals
were hit and miss the windjammer food was plentiful with variety but usually cold. Hot cooked food needs to maintained at a certain temperature and I ...
***AS USUAL, THIS IS A DETAILED REVIEW OF MY EXPERIENCE ON THIS SPECIFIC CRUISE:
- This was a repositioning 12 day cruise around Asia, we were a party of 6 in our early 30´s, late 20´´s in 3 different balcony cabins, I got cabin 12712.
We arrived at Singapore a few days before we embarked and we stayed in a hotel called STUDIO M HOTEL which was a a few hundred meters from Clarke Quay, a very ...
Really wanted to visit Vietnam, Hong Kong and China.
Getting on board the ship in Singapore was ok, there was a large crowds so you expect a delay.
One or two things about this cruise annoyed me, before we went we were told we had to a Vietnamese visa, we had to apply to London for this, but on board they told us we could get a ships group visa for $6.00 each. It cost us an awful lot more ...
I chose Ovation of the Seas for the itinerary and the newness of the ship, and the price. With over 4,000 people onboard, it was outstanding to find the restrooms always spotless. The quality and choice of food was very good, although the speciality restaurants were nothing special. The staff were very friendly. The excursions could do with improvement. There wasn't enough information given. Their ...
