On ( May 21 st) we traveled on Norwegian Cruise lines ( the Jewel) on an Alaska tour. The scenery of the enviroment throughout the tour was simply breathtaking. The food on the ship at the main dining room was what, we considered to be average or rather more like cafeteria style fast food, nothing to really rave about quality wise.
On several ocasions the corn on the cobs were completely dried ...
We selected this cruise because it had some less common stops - Sitka, Victoria, and Hoonah. The stops were all amazing, and I was especially impressed with Sitka and Hoonah (Icy Point). The weather was pretty cold, not unexpected for Alaska in May, so not much time was spent on deck.
The food on this trip was very disappointing. There were never available tables at the buffet and the ...
The ship, stateroom, and staff were great. The entertainment was Las Vegas quality. Our only real complaint was the very low quality of the food at the buffet (main dining hall). It was a seven day cruise and there was no real variety. What was even worse was that the food itself was unappetizing. My wife and I ended up eating our dinners at the high-end speciality restaurants which served ...
I actually did not know what cruise line to choose since I never have been on a cruise. While I was looking at some options I came across Norwegian with pictures of Alaska, that I wanted to go see. Unfortunately, I did not shop around and I probably should of. I was not entirely impressed with the whole process. Unfortunately, this was not an all inclusive cruise and everything had to be ...
I sailed to Alaska late in the season (September) Jewel and found the destination to be worth every penny. The downside to the trip was the NCL Jewel, specifically, the on-board activities and enrichment.
We purchased the Mandara Spa package (Thermal Suite) for $139 per person which we had heard rave reviews about from other NCL cruisers. What we found was a spa area that was segregated ...
I chose this cruise to take my Grand Children on our yearly Grand Children vacation during the Labor Day week.
We have done this cruise before with other Grand Children ages 6 - 12.
The only real positive thing I can say is the "Splash Academy" is still top of the line.
The Grand Children want to attend and request to return when we pick them up.
Other than that, the cruise was ...
Food - Many many options in Garden Café, including vegetarian choices. However, had to call 24 hr in advance to go to any of the other complimentary dining restaurants to ensure there were vegetarian choices. That deterred us from going to the sit down dinners and we only stuck to Garden Café.
Entertainment - Good shows every evening.
Ports - Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Victoria all are ...
We booked this cruise as a family cruise with my daughter, husband and grand children. My main complaint is that this company nickel and dimes you on everything. For example, we had to pay $26+ every night for the pleasure of having someone make our bed and $50 for someone to move our bags! We were pleased that our grandchildren enjoyed the kids club but there wasn't anything suitable for us as ...
We booked our cruise through Costco.com and booked this particular because the dates worked well for everyone in our party (13 of us total) and it went round-trip out of Seattle. Embarkation and disembarkation went more smoothly than any cruise any of us had been on before.
Our stateroom was mostly good, however when we got there the first day we noticed there was a sizing sticker from a new ...
The ship/food/etc were not too bad. The cabin is a different issue.
We had spent a lot of time on the NCL web-site looking at the details of the trip and pictures of our stateroom. Image our surprise when we open the door expecting to find the sharp, fresh, modern, blue and mauve color palette shown on their web-site but instead were greeted with the faded, soiled, stained, dated color ...
