We returned to Alaska on Princess because our friends are frequent cruisers on Princess. Alaska is still a great place to cruise even though most of the ports have become McCommercialized with diamond stores and the like. The excursions are a great way to see the sights and we have no criticism there. The staff on the ship was usually top notch and jumping to provide quick and efficient ...
We do wish there was more competition from San Francisco. The weather in Alaska was just appalling except for Sitka. Sitka now has a dock 5 miles out of town. A FREE bus is supposed to run every 15 mins but it is hopeless, disorganized queue jumping, free for all elbow jabbing contest. Expect to queue for hours waiting to return to ship. If there is more than 1 ship in town the guests from both ...
THE CRUISE
This was our 19th Alaska cruise and unfortunately the worst weatherwise. We have had beautiful weather on many of our previous cruises and only had three days of rain on all of those. This one made up for the good ones of the past with rain everywhere and biting cold winds. Well, that’s Alaska, you have to take the bad with the good.
CHECK IN PROCESS
We were through the check ...
We wanted to go to Alaska, and trip was convient, leaving and returning to San Franciso. I had previously traveled with Princess, but over 10 years ago. More recently with other carriers. We chose this date to see Glacier Bay. The itinerary and service did not disappoint.
The menu descriptions were very appealing, but the food was not. The buffet had items like roasted potatoes and others ...
We chose this cruise to take our adult grand children to Alaska. They seemed to endure it as it was their first cruise ever. We, on the other hand, have cruised with Princess 9 times previously. This cruise was a complete disaster for us. We were charged for drinks we DID NOT ORDER; Waited over 45 minutes to have our order take in two of the seated area restaurants; drink orders, when we received ...
I picked this cruise because I could drive to the port and not have to fly. The ship was small, very few things to do, little to no intertainment. The ports where not impressive.
Food was sub-par. A cruise line knowing they are taking you to a cold area should have more intertainment inside if you didn't want to know how to fold a dollar bill in a craft project you where watching reruns of love ...
We were excited to go back to Alaska and visit new ports. Icy Straight Point was a great place. We loved being able to walk through the forest up to the shopping. Prince Rupert was OK - not really anything to do if you don't take an excursion. If they want to make this a more permanent port they need to put in more tourist shops. But the Fire Dept Museum and nice and I was able to get a ...
Joined friends who are also Princess Captains Circle members. Sailing from San Francisco means no flights. The ship was well run and clean. Staff was friendly. Our cabin steward was the best. He knew and remembered our names right away. Medallion Class is a real plus and the staff know who you are and your preferences thru the system. Medallion Net however is sketchy at best. For the first ...
We had so much fun taking Princess North to Alaska again. Star, Grand, now the Ruby has taken us to visit popular ports of call in Alaska. Due to covid our ship was not full. Almost full but not entirely. Sailing 07/22. I am not sure if capacity was limited due to staff availability or simply not enough staff ready to get to full levels. My DW and I are vaccinated (not boosted). We got vaccinated ...
Only cruise line available which sails directly from San Francisco. Really good food on board. Really friendly staff, they really are the back bone of cruise ship. Room services I had3 issues with orders, never arrived after ordering. When I call3d guest services attempting to get account charges for services Removed? Not able to get it reversed. The fo9d on cruise was so good, with high quality ...
