Dated and dirty ship, mediocre service, nickel-and-dimed to death

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Booked this cruise as a family reunion holiday for 17 people spread across 5 rooms. Overall a disappointing experience. 1. The Breakaway: - Despite having received a refresh in 2019, the ship feels dirty, tired and dated. Be careful no not trip over the ripped carpet seams on nearly every elevator lobby/stairwell. Many of the windows in the Thermal spa, fitness center and restaurants are ...

Very overcrowded

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Divina

We chose MSC Davina as we were hoping for a memorable experience, however our expectations were shattered due to several issues. Firstly we were disappointed with how overcrowded the cruise was it was completely oversold. Throughout our time on board we struggled to find anywhere to sit or access to the pools. This made it challenging to relax and unwind or to fully enjoy the amenities advertised ...

Not worth the money

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this cruise based on the destinations. We were excited and paid premium for many areas and it was not worth the money. Some workers didn’t even seem happy to be there. The way they handled the itinerary was sad-spending all day in ports where things were closed and minimal time on ports with the most flair. The excursions were extremely over-priced and not worth the money. So many people ...

Base Price is Reasonable but extras extortionate

We went with my daughter and her boyfriend to celebrate her 30th birthday. We had 2 balcony cabins which were adequate in size, quiet and comfortable. Boarding was hassle free and we found our cabins without a problem. Service by the staff was, as always, excellent but there was a palpable sense of stress as though the staff were having to work too hard. They seem to have to work 12 hours a day ...

Something changed after the pandemic

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Disney Dream

This is our 5th Disney cruise overall, and our 1st post pandemic. We went on a 8 night Greek cruise and stayed in a verandah room in aft of the ship on the 8th deck and whenever the ship was moving faster than 19 knots (pretty much every night between ports) the entire back of the ship was vibrating horribly. This was everywhere, the animators palate (glasses dancing on the table), palo, on the ...

I chose this cruise because I loved the itinerary (Rome to Rome visiting Corsica, Sardinia, Capri, Amalfi & Naples), and was curious to try a new small-ship cruise line, as I have had great experiences on lines such as Windstar and Sea Dream. While I am glad that I tried it, my experience paled in comparison to those lines, the main reason being dining/service. Information about me: I am ...

Disappointment to say the least

We typically cruise with Viking but my husband wanted to try a smaller ship. And since I love to cook and this was advertised as Epicurean I assumed there would be cooking demonstrations and or classes. There was one cooking session. Advertising this cruise as Epicurean is "false" advertising. The ads are over promised and under delivered. Was also looking forward to going to a lemon farm on the ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was to be our 25th Wedding Anniversary Cruise through the Mediterranean. Due to the air flights being booked to close together by Norwegian Airlines the connections were not made and we missed getting on the boat in Rome. Although we would have arrived in time to board they would not permit it. They were to leave 5:00pm and did not leave until 5:45pm. We would have arrived by 4:45pm. They ...

Not at all like pre-Covid NCL

Wow! And not a good wow. We took our kids on this cruise to celebrate their graduations. We've all cruised extensively - 60+ cruises each, and cruised extensively with NCL - Sapphire level - including the Breakaway. If this had been our first cruise we likely wouldn't cruise again. To say that NCL has "economized" since Covid is an understatement. Almost no entertainment on board at all. Two ...

We chose this because we wanted to leave from Rome to see the sights there first. We hadn't been to Spain before so thought this would be a good itinerary. Boat was old, crew members seemed unhappy/unenthusiastic/upset. Many were pleasant but the overall vibe was not good. Other passengers noted similar sentiments. The steakhouse, churasscaria and French restaurants were the highlights of the ...
