"We chose the Grand as we wanted a smaller ship and love the wrap around promenade deck on this older class. The two negatives from the ship were 1) the cental stairway that was badly designed (and changed for future Grand class ships) as it goes nowhere after deck 7 meaning only the front and rear stairs are of any real use...."Read More

1-10 of 102 Princess Grand Princess Cruise Reviews for Family to Alaska
Picked this cruise as a B2B to the Vancouver-Sydney relocation cruise. The weather for 14 days was bleak, but doing a return trip we managed to see everything we wanted, though we missed Hubbard Glacier and the first Ketchikan stop. The internet worked well and we had no problems with the Medallion app. Would have spent more time in the casino except the smoke smell was terrible, seeping out ...
We booked an Alaska cruisetour with Princess after lots of research. Have done nearly 30 cruises with various lines including several with Princess.
Spent 7 days on a land tour first, which was excellent and ran very smoothly despite the changes of location along the way.
We chose the Grand as we wanted a smaller ship and love the wrap around promenade deck on this older class. The smaller ...
This was our 8th cruise and 2nd time to Alaska (first was on Holland America), first time on Princess. We always heard that Princess does Alaska right and they sure did. We were very fortunate to have excellent weather through out the cruise, so that definitely helped.
1. Food - 3.5 stars (main dining was good, but several times the meat was undercooked and the Indian food was very mediocre, ...
We had taken the Inner Passage cruise in Alaska many years ago and always regretted not having gone to the interior, so this time we took the 7 day land tour before getting aboard the Grand Princess for the 7 day cruise back to Vancouver.
The Land Tour:
We started out in Fairbanks, where we enjoyed a train excursion to a gold dredge, where we panned for gold and I got enough gold to put ...
Cruise Critic review of Grand Princess 14 nights back to back cruise 6 July to 20 July 2022 from Vancouver to Alaska return.
Background
We chose this cruise for one reason only, Princess cancelled our 16 night Sapphire Princess from San Pedro to Hawaii return, 1 week after we made the final payment on the cruise.
We had flights booked and paid for to LAX and with 2.5 months before we fly ...
This was our first cruise and we were very impressed with the friendly staff, esp in the restaruants. The waiters seemd to anticipate our every whim. The food was varied and well plated. The scenery was stunning. The naturalist was knowledgeable, but the best was the historion from Skagway. Jazz was good- esp the trombonist from Khazikstan. Enjoyed most of the activities, but wish we would have ...
I choice this cruise for the itinerary that included Vancouver and Victoria Canada unfortunately our stop to Victoria was canceled for some nonsense reason about the weather. The weather was rough from the beginning of our cruise. I didn’t see the reason to cancel Victoria’s Port. Astoria, Oregon. Pointless. Not interested at all but didn’t want to stay on the ship. That’s why we booked an ...
wanted to see something different without flying so chose this cruise. Left our of San Francisco and most of the time the weather made the ship a little rocky so had to be careful walking on the ship. but we were able to dance for the most part which is a lot of what we like to do and I was able to take the Zumba and dance classes but had to be careful of the ships movements. I think maybe it ...
I chose this cruise since it did not involve a flight for my elderly mother. Prior to the cruise I read many reviews complaining about the ship. I am not sure why the reviews are so negative. The Grand Princess is an older ship but well maintained. I did not notice any major maintenance issues in public areas.
During the cruise I ate at both specialty restaurants, the Chef's Table, Pub ...
Favorite cruise line.

Safety Drill:
Safety Drill should include importance of silence by passengers and STAFF specially during an incident as we had on this voyage.
#1. Public announcements should only be made by well spoken English speaking staff. 1st announcement made was totally unintelligible and most ...
