Sail Date: Jul 2023
Cabin: Mini-Suite with Balcony

We booked an Alaska cruisetour with Princess after lots of research. Have done nearly 30 cruises with various lines including several with Princess.

Spent 7 days on a land tour first, which was excellent and ran very smoothly despite the changes of location along the way.

We chose the Grand as we wanted a smaller ship and love the wrap around promenade deck on this older class. The smaller size meant the ship could travel the Inside Passage, which the Royal class can't, and fewer people getting on/off at the ports of call. Lots of open space to view the magnificent scenery.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

A reserve collection mini suite located midship on the port side. Despite the age it looked in good condition and everything worked. Comfy bed and plenty of storage space. Open balcony which was a positive on an Alaska cruise.

Port Reviews

Juneau

Town was very disappointing after Skagway. Lots of homeless and modern block buildings without character. Whalewatching excursion out of town was excellent.
