We chose this cruise because it visited the western part of Greenland which was new to us. We are Elite and took a veranda room on 10. This was cruise number 110. It was the worst cruise we’ve ever been on. The ship was full to capacity which meant it was very crowded. Design of ship just is not meant for 3500 people. It was difficult to simply find a place to sit and have a drink at anytime. ...
I wanted to do another UK cruise go to places like Shetland and Newcastle as I’m a fan of the TV shows and also Liverpool as I had not been there. I’m just about through with long haul flights so I tried to book on the Iceland/Greenland tour but at the time (Feb), I was told all the solo cabins had been sold. I waited about 5 weeks and cabins became available again and I was able to book that tour ...
We haven’t cruised with Princess for the best part of 10 years, and never on the Island Princess.
Shes a classic style cruise liner and on the larger size of what we have been used to recently.
Embarking was quick and flawless at Southampton and we were in our cabin before 1pm.
An inside cabin to the rear of deck B, not far from the rear lifts and stairs. The “stateroom” was a good size ...
t I travel with my partner Janet. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. 33 days with ports in Iceland and Norway. The Island Princess seemed to be the perfect way to visit the northern ports and June the perfect season to do so. This is not the review I had hoped to write when we made the reservations. The disappointment was not with the itinerary, but the ship. No, not even the ship, but ...
What a lovely ship, food entertainment , bar service, the staff could not do enough for you , cabin clean , Buffett enough choice and had themed nights each night to go along with the Rest of the normal Buffett food, we dined in one of the main restaurants at 7.20 which we booked before our cruise , thus gave us enough time to come back on ship from a excursion and chill and watch sail aways from ...
This review is for the 33 day cruise, not just the part the CC system would recognize. I chose this cruise because it went to a much desired destination: Longyearbyen (Svalbard), an island north of the Arctic Circle belonging to Norway. I booked in February when I saw I could book a 33 day cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale to Southhampton to Norway and back to Southhampton. Not long after final ...
I chose this cruise as I wanted to see Norway and Iceland in one package
The Good Bits - Great embarkation and disembarkation - The medallion app is quite good - Food ample and tasty - Entertainment in the main theatre excellent - Ship and cabin spotlessly clean - Staff in the main very friendly and attentive - Lifts work very well so there is little waiting - If on this particular cruise, the ...
We booked the cruise on the strength of the itinerary, which held up very well apart from two key changes. The changes are based on the fact that one of the engines on the ship is not at full strength, so speed is limited. This meant we were quite late getting to Bergen (one of my bucket list ticks...) and we wouldn't be having an overnight in Reykjavic (something we had planned for to be able to ...
We were forced to cancel a cruise including Iceland due to Covid so we were looking forward to this trip. The ports in Norway were great with beautiful fjords and villages. We had 4 ports in Iceland and felt we were rewarded with great weather and a an immersive experience. We learned a lot about the history and life on this island nation.
As for the Sky Princess, everything was as expected ...
We drove from Ickenham to Southampton and parked our car in Triangle car park from where we took a taxi to the Mayflower terminal. The cost of the car park including return taxi transfer to terminal was half the price Princess approved car parking was charging.
We were at the terminal by 11.30am. Check in was very swift and once we got our medallions, we were onboard the beautiful Sky Princess ...
