Chose this 7-day cruise because of the destinations en route. The "buffet" leaves a lot to be desired - poor choice of dishes, terrible organisation in terms of getting people through, inadequate tea and coffee stations which always lacked simple things like teaspoons, the food was consistently cold and/or dry.
One of the main irritations was the captain. Multiple times a day he would make ...
I chose this cruise as I liked the itinerary. I was dubious about going on the Aurora, but the fact that it was Adult Only helped seal the deal and the price was right.
Why was I dubious about the Aurora? This was my 3rd trip on her, my first being in 2019 just before the pandemic. My experience then was great. Good ship, lovely crew, good service and great food choices. Having experienced ...
We picked Arvia at the last minute to achieve a sunshine family holiday that would fit in with prearranged leave dates and keep two 16 year olds entertained. The fact that she departed from Southampton and saved us from getting flights was a plus. Given these goals the holiday was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves. With one inside and one outside window (no balcony) cabin we achieved value ...
Honeymoon - first cruise!
So the food is the selling point of the cruise. Almost all the food I ate ranged from good to excellent. The free food almost as good quality as the paid extra food! The entertainment that I saw was good too, however...
The boat has an app system that allows you to pre-book any number of events in advance, with zero repercussions for cancelling. So what this ...
We enjoyed our cruise on Britannia. The dining room food was decent but a little repetitive. The buffet however was dreadful, the worst I've had on a cruise ship. Beating MSC which I never thought would be possible. Everything tasted bland and ultra-processed. I mean you have Indian chefs, why are the curries not cooked fresh? I'm pretty sure they use tinned curries. Finding fruit and vegetables ...
We choose P&O Arvia as it was a new ship and we thought everything will be at the highest level .
Unfortunately the entertainment it was very poor and inexperienced.
The layout of the ship wasn't to great , many pools and not as we've experienced on other shops .
The staff looked mostly sad and depressed .(very few were amazing). For example the had a unknown rule of one drink per 15 min ...
We were excited for our cruise, it was going to 9 destinations and 8 we had never been to before. We are not new to cruising so knew what to expect on a well detailed and organised cruise.
The Ship is fine in itself, if a little tired in places. The Captain was brilliant, he was from Derbyshire and made every announcement funny, but informative.
Catering needs some serious work, and I mean ...
I have cruised with P&O before., but never on the Azura.
We arrived late due to our charter flight delay. The dining rooms were closed. The buffet restaurant was only partially open so the queues were long and tiring with a limited choice. Not the best introduction to Azura.
I felt the ship was tired and lacked sparkle. Service was mediocre. Entertainment bland and quite amateurish at some ...
This was our second cruise on P&O ; wanted to try a new ship and of course knew it was going to be busy .Boarding was slick and efficient; luggage delivered fast . First impressions was good . Cabin on deck 12 with a balcony was lovely. It was not long before technical issues with app developed . Meal times chaotic!
Not school holidays but large numbers of children on board , if you want a ...
We have cruised with P&O previously. This was our first cruise on Iona. We like the fact that the onboard professional photographers have been reduced and that tips are no longer automatically added to our onboard account.
The ship was modern, bright, clean and well maintained. Our cabin (balcony deluxe) was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed.
Staff were pleasant and ...
