I thought it was going to be a luxury cruise, but it was the worst cruise experience I've had in about 30 cruises. We got off the ship before the schedule disembarkation date because it was so bad.The ship was feces, urine and mold infested. Gastrointestinal infections were widespread. The ship was classified code red, meaning it was so unclean and unhealthy the government had to step in and ...
We chose this cruise based on itinerary, since we wanted to visit several islands.
I had read rave reviews of the food, but that’s so subjective I didn’t have real expectations. The food was very inconsistent; great in day and not so great the next. The fish was awful - other than the tuna, I found bones in EVERY fish dish I ordered.
We ignored the entertainment, as it just wasn’t for ...
Embarkation and disembarkation was relatively smooth. Don’t expect much hospitality. Employees are not excited about their jobs so don’t expect many smiles either. We spent much extra to stay in a (PHS) Penthouse Suite and was advertised our own personal Butler, (which was shared by many other suites so personalized is the farthest from the truth.) He is given too many rooms to service.
We also ...
REVIEW OF REGATTA BY CIRCUMNAVIGATORS MEMBER
This is our second long voyage on this once outstanding cruise line - we are currently onboard for 45 days on circumnavigation of Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately the vessel has fallen greatly in the large constellation of mid size cruisers.
We attempted to obtain cabin upgrade from the front desk but received no reply after several ...
This is cruise 18 with Oceania on all ships but Serena. I am not sure if i have been unlucky but the service level was less than “normal”. For example at the Sunday brunch my wife and i finished before any staff member asked us if we wanted water, juice or anything else except cocktails. At dinner in the dining room the opposite, cant find a drink waiter and have to ask. It seems there is a staff ...
The ship broke down after leaving Honolulu, had to be towed by tugs back to port. Stuck in Honolulu for three days. Missed 40% of ports of call on the San Diego to Papeete Cruise. Feelings of insecurity, uncertainty and disappointment. Oceania offered $500 shipboard credit on cruise in 2018/19 as compensation and that's all. No respect or empathy for passengers. Trying to benefit from passenger ...
This was my first cruise but definitely not my last. My husband and I picked this cruise in particular because it looked like it wouldn't have any small children running around, as it was after Labor Day and the target demographic seemed to be for those 40 and up. It worked- we were nearly the youngest couple on board. Everyone we spoke to was an Oceania regular or had come from one of the ...
We chose this ship because of the itinerary and small number of passengers.
The staff, the dining, the communication during the trip, the cabin ( bed and linen) were all excellent. The shore excursions offered by the cruise line are expensive and if you are prepared to investigate tours yourself or walk down to the dock and take a chance on a tour, then they are at least 30% cheaper.
The ...
This was our 7th Oceania cruise and 5th time on the Regatta. It was quite wonderful, as always and most of the ports were interesting.
The entertainment seems better now that NCL has taken over and the service is what we have come to expect with Oceania. We always take a taxi from the airport to the ship, as it is much less expensive.
We did an independent tour in Guatemala using 'Go With ...
We booked this cruise with very high expectations, given Oceania's reputation as a "step above" the other cruise lines and the price point. Unfortunately, this cruise was a disappointment; almost from day one. I hope other potential customers will learn from my experience and read all the reviews BEFORE booking a cruise on the Regatta.
I'd like to start with a positive note: the food was very ...
