We chose this ship because of the itinerary and small number of passengers.
The staff, the dining, the communication during the trip, the cabin ( bed and linen) were all excellent. The shore excursions offered by the cruise line are expensive and if you are prepared to investigate tours yourself or walk down to the dock and take a chance on a tour, then they are at least 30% cheaper.
The wine list was excellent and reasonably priced - we made use of the "buy a bottle and have the leftover wine cellared until we needed wine again" - a saving on wine by the glass.
Completely black at night - we slept really well. It was also very quiet and well air-conditioned.
The cabin is well designed so that we could easily unpack all our clothes for the 10 days and put our suitcases under the bed.
I was concerned that the Laundrette was behind our cabin on the plan, but we couldn't hear any noise and it proved very handy to iron.
Hired a bike and rode around Stanley Park - great day
We caught a taxi from the dock to the Butchardt Gardens(about 45mins and $55) (entry about $38 each)
Stunning gardens - need about an hour to see all (unless you are really avid gardeners).
Then we caught the shuttle bus ($2.50 each and 45 mins) back to downtown.
There we had a drink and lunch at The Empress Hotel - worth visiting and a walk through, followed by about a 15 minute walk back to the ship
Worth getting up early for the entry under the Golden Gate bridge in the dark.
We disembarked here, hired a "day rate " hotel to store our suitcases, and did a bit of shopping before going out to the airport at night.
