Highly disorganized, terrible service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We had been planning this as our family Christmas gift for several months. We are a family of 4, husband and wife early 50s, 14 yo son, 17 yo daughter. Cruise started off rocky when we noticed our drink packages missing from our key cards. Who wants to spend the first exciting hours of a cruise in guest services lines. Upside, the problem was easily remedied and that crew member very pleasant. ...

What has happened to NCL?

We have been on multiple NCL cruises in the past and have been completely satisfied. But, the most recent cruise on the Breakaway was pretty bad! We took a Christmas cruise with the family. The ship was full and the staff did a poor job of handling the number of people that were on this cruise. There were lines everywhere. The concept of eating meals when you want to didn't work! Anytime ...

Disappointed. We sailed in the NCL Breakaway in the Caribbean the week before Christmas 2019, and were hoping to have a relaxing time, but couldn't during the day. The one pool is small and very crowded with young adults, as well as the hot tubs. Loud bands. You couldn't get away from the noise. The food in the main restaurants was not up to par as compared to other cruise lines we have sailed on. ...

We were a party of 4 people and have always cruised with Royal Caribbean and wanted to try Norwegian. The ship is very large and updated and they do a great job of keeping it clean while you are cruising. When talking about the food here the buffet was not very good compared with our previous experience with Royal but when compared with the dining hall experience the food was very good and many ...

I just returned from a 7 day cruise on the NCL Breakaway. This is my 3rd NCL cruise and my 2nd time on the Break away (last sailing on this ship was 2015 out of NY). We booked a mini suite on deck 11 and paid for NCL's Priority Boarding ($99.00) per cabin, I arrived at 10am and were on the ship before 11am and was the quickest most pleasant boarding I have ever had! We rushed to get tickets to ...

Well this was my first cruise experience. As a family we decided to vacay rather than xmas at the house. First thing is first, I am a big planner so I planned everything out prior to going on the cruise. On embarkation day the process was pretty smooth. We arrived at about noon and there was not a long line. Got on the ship in about 30 to 45 minutes. Once on the ship it's a total different ...

Sincerely reminds me of a Carnival cruise I went on when I was in college 20 years ago. It was a more family oriented cruise in that there were younger people, college students, children, and a mix of old and young throughout. It was obvious that this was a budget friendly type of cruise. This was all well and good if it weren’t for the fact that it seems Norwegian Put their training crew on this ...

Poor service in restaurants that come with cruise.

I was very disappointed in the food overall. The buffets were mediocre and seemed like the same food all the time with just a twist in names. Two of the cruise included restaurants had the same mediocre food but the service was terrible even when the restaurants were not very full. I’ve been on cruises where the entertainment was excellent and included in the price of the cruise. On the ...

I initially was going on this cruise for our 40th anniversary, but as the time got closer, my husband decided he really did not want to go as it is tooooo much walking for him. So I chose to take my sister instead. I had gone to the expense of the Haven so that we would not have to walk and stand in lines for the bar & restaurants and a smaller pool & spa area too. The Haven and our suite ...

We chose this cruise because we sailed other ships in NCL's fleet previously and had an awesome experience each time. While the Breakaway is relatively new and modern, the staterooms were smaller than I was expecting, especially when compared to similar class of staterooms on other Norwegian ships we've taken The food in the Garden Buffet was good but as the week wore on, seemed became ...
