As our first cruise we took advantage of a "Kids Sail Free" promotion to take our first family cruise. Here is an overall breakdown of our experience. Individual port experiences will be discussed later. What we loved and would do again... Balcony room - worth the extra money! Great to be able to sit out there and watch the ship pull into and away from ports. At various times saw dolphins, ...

Friendly, usually attentive, smiling staff; decent food with lots of options; clean facilities, attentive room steward; excellent service and food in LeBistro; as-needed updates from Captain regarding weather conditions and impacts; wide variety of entertainment and activities, all for less than would have spent elsewhere. We booked on the edge of hurricane season for better pricing. Weather was ...

My husband and I just returned from Norwegian Sun's 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. It was a wonderful, restful vacation. The staff was fabulous and very attentive to our every need. The 'Free Style Dining' concept is a nice change from traditional cruising. We found it gave us so much more freedom with dinner options. The Sun's entertainment was first rate - I highly recommend you see ...

We chose this cruise based on its ports of call, cost and what we wanted from the cruise: different ports that we haven't seen, low cost travel and relaxation. the Sun delivered on all accounts. Embarkation went smoothly and minimal waiting in the terminal. Disembarkation was lengthy in its process however since walk off isn't allowed at the terminal per customs. so after years of using wheel ...

Embarkation at Port Canaveral-excellent. Very simple, easy and quick. We carried on our luggage, arrived around 11 am and were on within 20 mins. Once onboard, there was a bit more chaos-the gangplank put you on the ship on deck 6, directly into the second floor of the atrium (which is very small and it is not that easy to figure out where to go). There were lots of people congregating and a few ...

Background Back in March, I received an invitation from the Casino at Sea program to participate in the "Millionaire Maker Slot Tournament" cruise. Had a choice of four cruises in 2011 and selected this one. I paid to upgrade from my balcony cabin to forward SE penthouse cabin 8001. Can you believe I couldn't get anyone to join me on this fabulous vacation?? So, I ended up sailing solo but ...

My daughter (age 20) and I went on a 3-night Bahamas cruise on the Norwegian Sun in October. It was our second cruise with NCL in 2011. We had been on the Norwegian Sky in May, sailing out of Miami for a 4-night cruise. We had such a great time on the Sky that we booked the cruise on the Sun the day that we disembarked last May! We loved both cruises. The primary difference between the two ...

It was a little hectic and warm as it is around the central Florida area this time of year when we checked on. The waiting line to board was bearable. Once the details were attended to we proceeded quickly to locate our cabin. Our bags were not there yet, so it was off the a nice meal, one of many in the Seven Seas dining room. We sailed just a little after five p.m. and headed out in the Atlantic ...

First of all the embarkation was very easy and quick. Got on about 12:30 and went to get something to eat in one of the main dining rooms - very nice lunch and no crowds.Cabin was nice, about the same size as most balcony rooms on the smaller ships. Bathroom, very very small (shower especially)but it was only for a week.We were supposed to leave port at 4:00 so we went to our balcony about 3:45 ...

We had a Great cruise in almost every respect. The previous poster had a horrible cruise. What I have to say will be a comparison of our experience to theirs. They were on their honeymoon and we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Cruisereview 22: "I've always found Carnival to be a party cruise, Norwegian to be a "Silver" cruise (for the older folks) and Royal Carribean to be a great balance. ...
