Been on Many NCL Cruises, 1st time on Escape - Was Terrible

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Escape

Room was so disgustingly dirty I fell ill and got huves and a cold sore. Wings in o’Sheehans were wet with few, wet skin. Got food poisoning the 2nd last night. As a solo traveller in a room and not the solo studios, the solo travel group meet-ups were in a locked area of the solo studios so, if you were in a room, suite, etc you could not get in to attend. As a solo traveller I was placed at ...

Not Functional or Acceptable

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

This was my first Norwegian cruise (I'm #LoyaltoRoyal), and it will certainly be my last. Truly, the entire experience was a mess. There's just no other way to describe it. First, I booked my cruise approximately 4 months prior to sailing, and all of the specialty dining and show reservations were full. However, I was told that more reservations would be available once we were onboard. Wrong. ...

Poor Ship Design and Worse Service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We went on this cruise with high hopes of a new ship experience. From boarding (I was sprayed in the face with hand sanitizer and ended up in the medical clinic), to poor customer service, we counted the days until we could disemark. We never met our cabin steward and called to check when our room would be made up and was told "I work 8 to 6". We asked for additional facecloths to wash up for ...

Complete disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

We chose this cruise line because the dates fit most of the people of our large group sailing together. That was the first mistake. Other cruise lines we sailed on accommodated dinners together. NCL touts their "free form" dining but it is a hassle to have to make reservations for every dinner, with a maximum of 8. Our group was eating dinner at different times every night. The food was sub ...

Overly crowded, bland food options, medical center bill ripoff!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

Firstly, the cruise was at capacity so it was crowded everywhere. Secondly, the food in the garden cafe was underwhelming and bland. The food in the restaurants was better. Thirdly, my boyfriend went to the medical center on the last day of the cruise for abdominal and it was a nightmarish experience (detailed below). Norwegian has no customer service number for any comments or complaints for past ...

Worst cruise I’ve ever been on

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

I’ve been on more than a dozen cruises in the last 15 years, mostly Royal Caribbean and Princess. I saw ads for the new Prima class ships and decided to try NCL for the promise of more space per person. Worst. Mistake. Ever. This ship constantly felt overcrowded everywhere we went at all times of day. Every venue is too small. Every time we thought about going to the pool, we were deterred by the ...

Ship is overrated

Honestly I did not like this ship at all. The other three people on the cruise with us also hated it. We all agreed the other boats in the fleet are much better and the layout is more desirable. Pro's: -The rooms are very big compared to other ships. Bathroom is the same size. The added couch is a nice touch. -The ship itself does have some new decor and details. -Price is right ...

Our First and Probably Last NCL Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Embarkation, long line to clear security, after that check in was quick and efficient. Once onboard, long lines and crowds everywhere. Tried to have lunch at the Surfside Grill but we were turned away because it was completely full. Finally able to get the app connected so we could book entertainment reservations. Donna Summer, Noise Boys and the Price is Right were all SOLD OUT! This was ...

We loved NCL (Gold Level) until we went on the ESCAPE

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

I writing a review because we never received a response from the letter to the CEO of NCL. We have travelled many times on NCL, (gold level), and have loved each and every one. On past cruises, we sailed on smaller ships such as the DAWN and the GEM et al. Our impression of the ESCAPE is that it’s exactly the same as the smaller ships except it was much longer and floors were added for ...

Worse cruise and ship I have ever been on.

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This cruise and ship were terrible. During embarkation, we were stuck in hallways waiting to go to our cabins. We were not allowed into our cabin until after the 4:30 muster drill. The ship is very poorly designed, especially for the number of passengers. The casino is oversized, and filled with smoke that permeates into other areas of the ship. Other venues are way too small. The comedy ...
