Excellent Crew Service

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Chose this cruise to get away from the cold. Embarking was very well done as was debarking. The ship itself is in excellent shape. The other guests were not sensitive for the needs of people with disabilities and sat at designated handicaped tables in the buffet during the entire cruise. Service was the best ever on a Norwegian ship never a negative thought. The public areas of the ...

Not the cruise originally planned

I chose this cruise since the Panama Canal was a bucket list along with going to Panama, Costa Rica and other countries. I booked this cruise April 2022. Approximately 10 days after final payment a new itinerary was sent out taking away Nicaraqua, Costa Rica and our 1 1/2 day in Panama reduced to 4-11 PM. No reason for this dramatic change and Acapulco and Ocho Rios was put in as replacements. No ...

Valiant Crew Trying to Overcome Cutbacks

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

Overall, the cruise was enjoyable. The crew did their best despite recent staffing cuts. Ship’s officers (with a few exceptions) appeared wanting. One of the notable positive exceptions was Marites Sonza, who appeared to be everywhere attempting to make sure everything was flowing smoothly! A great itinerary was reduced by two desirable port calls being eliminated (explanation sounded like ...

We recently sailed on the bliss through the Panama Canal. From L.A. to Miami. Norwegian picked us up at the airport. The Staff were still learning the ropes. Some confusion about where to board the bus to the ship. Had to walk to a second area to reach the bus. Only one person was injured boarding the bus. As usual there were a lot of people waiting to board the ship. Embarking was not ...

Overall Disappointing

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Joy

The January 21 Miami to Los Angeles Panama Canal cruise was my fourth on NCL and the most disappointing. The Joy has a two person to a cabin maximum capacity of 3,800 and this sailing was close to “full up.” This makes for a strain on the staff and the space. While the staff is still very friendly and helpful they seem to be overworked. Pools, sundecks and the buffet were packed most of the ...

We chose this cruise because we had 2 - Cruise Next Certificates to use and did not want to lose them like we did with 2 others that Norwegian took from us during the Pandemic, Will NEVER buy those again. We boarded the Joy in San Pedro, CA for back to back cruises through the Panama Canal to Miami. FL and back. We took an Uber to the cruise dock and found that the Joy was not docked at the ...

Four of us chose this cruise because of the Panama Canal transit. the ship was at 90% capacity. First the good: The crew is outstanding!! So friendly, so nice. We enjoyed our experiences with the cabin steward, wait staff, bartenders (shout out to Happy and Handsome at the Mixx!!), garden cafe staff, excursion staff, etc. The ship is very clean. Furniture looks new, carpets ...

Norwegian Service Leaves Much to be Desired

Second time on the Panama Canal cruise, just in reverse this time, and with family. So all in all, we had a great time, but the service on NCL is crashing, and fast! First off, we are used to leaving from Miami, and NCL's cruise port is great. But when leaving from LA, we were offered tents in the parking lot. The checkin there was a mess. But we made it. Most passengers are from the US. ...

We always wanted to cruise Panama Canal and were excited about the itenerary. We are long time NCL cruisers but oir experience fell below our seasoned expectations. We have always loved NCL. The ship was recently renovated and we miss the wine bar. Decor is nice. Pros: Drink package upgrade for Veuve anytime Magnums bar, wine selection Cagneys food and service excellent ...
