Embarkation was simple as the NCL app allows nearly all the steps prior to arriving. We arrived about 10 AM and since this was the first trip of the Alaska season, there were no passengers on the ship from a previous cruise. From baggage drop off to the waiting area was about 15 minutes. It would have been faster but it was clear that check in agents were being trained and were still learning the ...
First of all- this site is FULL of complainers. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. 4.5 review for us. We loved our experience on this ship! We don’t expect 100% perfection. Here are our pros and cons:
Pros- Beautiful clean new ship, spacious balcony room, comfy beds, OBSERVATION LOUNGE deck 15- with huge windows and drinks and snacks almost always available- and tons of seating- we ...
Just completed 20 days on the sun from Seattle to Fl. First off we had a penthouse i bedroom rear facing suite on the 10th floor that had a very large deck with two chairs and two loungers with thick and comfortable pads. The room was ok - the shower wad small to fit the 6 foot tub. The living room needed an extra chair and bigger table for eating on but we just bough in a deck chair. The bed was ...
We are pretty loyal to HAL, but this trip was an amazing value. My knees don't work right, so I can't "do" Alaska like I could have thirty years ago. My hope was to see as much as I could see from the boat. Our goal was quiet, decent food, decent service, and to take in some of the amazing scenery that is Alaska.
We got that, and more!
We scored a beautiful club suite-- more room than ...
This was our first cruise in twenty years and our first cruise on NCL. As we were celebrating our 40th anniversary we decided to splurge and book a Haven cabin and enjoy all of the benefits that go along with cruising in the Haven. Since this was a special occasion, we did book back to back weeks on the same ship with the second week also being in the Haven.
In general, we liked the layout ...
Have done this itinerary before on the NCL Encore , Bliss and Jewel. Last time on the Encore, in 2021, ship capacity was held down to about 60%. This time it was at 100% or more. I was expecting crowding, and that was certainly the case. The main choke points were at the elevators and in the buffet. If you are able to take the stairs, which we mostly were not, you can get where you are going ...
Always a pleasure to visit Seattle, WA!
As for the Bliss, we enjoyed our Club Balcony Cabin - plenty of room with large bathroom & tub. Just wish we had at least gone up to deck 10 when choosing our cabins. The kids and their mates had balcony cabins on Deck 9 also.
Really liked the Observation Deck and the bar service there was excellent. You can see all around the ship (both sides and ...
DO NOT LET NORWEGIAN BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS TO AND FROM YOUR CRUISE
Norwegian will offer you their free at sea package and then claim that the flights are buy one and get the 2nd persons flight free. Its a lie. They will charge you more than twice what one persons flight actually costs and god forbid if you miss a connection through no fault of your own, of course the airline will refund your ticket ...
This was our first cruise and we had a fantastic time on this smaller ship.
The ship was easy to navigate in my husbands manual wheelchair, with issues only happening a handful of times. I would suggest reservations for non-buffet restaurants for wheelchair users due to the limited space between the tables and chairs in most dining rooms. The downside to the dining rooms will be that you will ...
Overall it’s a wonderful cruise. The boat is beautiful. Having never done Alaska we chose this boat because we were traveling with a 12 year old and it was newer than many of the other ships going to Alaska and had a lot more fun things to do on the boat.
We ate at 4 of the specialty dining restaurants. The BBQ place Qi’s was terrific. Service was great, love country music (although by ...
