Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

We booked the Haven 2 bedroom well in advance. I was told by reservations if a better deal came along, they would honor the promotion. That did not happen. In Jan they started marketing the three bonuses. So I called to get them added and was denied. So I am paying for one of the most expensive cabins and those paying 1/2 the price or less get free restaurant upgrades, drink packages and more ship ...

The ship rocked and shook continuously. If the constant rocking and chugging does not make you sick, then the constant singing in the inferior buffet dining about "washy, washy, washy" will make most definitely nauseate you. This was my 10th cruise; second on NCL. The first time was 20 years ago on a different ship which at the time was probably new and simply re-christened as the Jewel. We had ...

This was my fourth cruise, but my first time cruising with Norwegian. The boarding process in Houston was simple and went fairly quickly. We chose this embarkation port because we were able to drive there. Driving through Houston was great, minimal traffic and easy route. The staff were very friendly and had great attitudes. We saw the cruise director frequently throughout the trip and he was ...

First and last time we will ever do a NCL cruise

First time cruisers with another family who previously cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Children were ages 4, 6, 14, and 16 so given that this was our Thanksgiving holiday we were really psyched but quickly disappointed. Embarkation was a breeze. Arrived to the terminal, dropped off the luggage, parked and all checked in relatively fast. No more than 45 minutes from lining up in customs ...

Been on at least ten cruises all on Royal Caribbean. Norwegian was the Worst cruise I have ever been on. Ship was dirty, rusty needed lots of upkeep inside and out. Service was not what we were used to all the way around from dining room staff , cabin staff, casino staff. Food was mediocre at best. The service in the main dining rooms was terrible. Asking for a glass of ice water and actually ...

We have cruised before but this by far was very poor in all ways

The first thing when we arrived we noticed our room was dirty, it looked like someone with tanning oil had fallen against the door and mirror, you could see the outline of their back. There was a bottle of water on the counter unopened so being that we had the beverage package we drank it and were charged 5.18 on our bill, apparently water is not a beverage. We went up to the buffet and the food ...

Our cruise vacation started off at the Marriott in the french quarters, great location but a bit pricey for the accommodations. Parking is valet only and will cost 35.00 plus tax per day. The rooms are small and the decor is more like a 2-star but the beds are very comfortable. They had a Starbucks and we enjoyed having that option at the hotel. First off me and my husband are in our late 30's ...

We ( my mom, boyfriend and I) decided on the Norwegian Jewel because it was the cheapest price for the locations it was going to. We live in Oklahoma and decided that we would drive to New Orleans. The ship went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Getting on the boat was simple enough and our room was not ready until about 1pm and that was fine because we went and ate at Tzars ...

LAST TIME ON NCL!!!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Where to begin? I have been on several Cruise lines (including previous NCL cruises) and this was the WORST cruise ever! It started off on a disappointing note when we entered the ship. NO music. NO welcome champagne. NO excitement. We had to walk around and wait for our cabin to be ready. Once Tzar's was ready for lunch, our entire party of 17 went to eat. They refused to push tables together so ...

Norwegian Jewel 11/29/2009 - 12/06/2009 Embarkation: Since we drove in the night before we arrived at the Port of Miami at around 10:00 am. We were about the 10th passengers on the line for check-in and passing through security was very easy and smooth. Once through security, it was on to the check-in counter to receive our keys and then to the "staging area" where you wait to board. One ...
