This was my fourth cruise, but my first time cruising with Norwegian. The boarding process in Houston was simple and went fairly quickly. We chose this embarkation port because we were able to drive there. Driving through Houston was great, minimal traffic and easy route.

The staff were very friendly and had great attitudes. We saw the cruise director frequently throughout the trip and he was always smiling and greeting people. The shows weren't spectacular, but were enjoyable and just cheesy enough that it was cute. Our room steward was wonderful and greeted us by name and anticipated our needs.

The biggest disappointment was the food. We attempted to eat at Tsar's the second day for lunch and found nothing, except for a salad and one appetizer, to be vegetarian. I asked for additional options and a woman finally appeared. We discussed options and she went back to the kitchen to speak with the chef. After no reappearance in over 10 minutes, we decided to leave and ate at the buffet. The buffet allowed us the largest number of vegetarian choices, but it was still sparse in my opinion. The Indian food was the best option for meatless entrees, as well as the made to order pasta. Cheese pizza was also always available. However, the food quality was very poor. I was excited to get off the ship so I could get home and eat good food that was worth eating. I heard people talking about how the pay for restaurants had better food, but again, most only had one vegetarian option; Cagney's had none. I cannot emphasize enough how let down I was regarding the inferior food and choices offered. I lost weight on the cruise.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OG

The room was small, but had adequate storage and a desk with mirror as well as a table with a stool. The mattress quality was atrocious! All movement can be felt in this cabin; we woke up several nights due to the movement.
