Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

The Jewel was just refurbished in 2018 and is still very new looking. At 2350 capacity she is my size. The seating in the common areas was clean and comfortable. I had a ocean view with 2 persons and it was OK. Beds were new and we had enough space. Entertainment is always a mystery to me. They only play for 45 min and sometimes at really odd times. We ate mostly in the main dinning room and the ...

Comfortable ship, great service

Our cruise from San Diego through the Panama Canal was almost perfect. With only 1600 passengers aboard, the ship was full of life and still had plenty of room to avoid lines and dance the night away. The most surprising part of the cruise was the quality of the food, which has always been good and was even better than usual on this cruise. The menu changed each day, repeating itself later in ...

I am taking a few moments to write a review as several I've read since returning from our trip are rather negative. Our experience was very positive. I should note, we have cruised on other lines (Celebrity, Carnival, Holland America, etc) and this is not our first boat ride. Also, traveling when we did the ship was not sold out (in fact, it was at about 60% of guest capacity) and the "crowd" ...

Fantastic voyage despite some unexpected shortcomings

The jewel was impeccably clean, and well maintained despite its age. The crew were all very friendly, super helpful. There were activities all over the ship at all hours of the day and a show inside the Stardust theatre every night. No matter if it was a port day or sea day, there was never a dull moment. During this Nov sailing, the ship was more than half empty. I suspect because most kids ...

We booked this cruise way in advance to celebrate our granddaughters (GD) 11th birthday. We flew to LAX on the morning of embarkation as we are only a two hour flight away. From LAX we boarded the NCL transfer bus and within 30 minutes of landing we were on our way the port. This was her first time on an airplane, seeing the ocean and first cruise and she was super excited. When we pulled ...

Norwegian's " freestyle" cruising is in our opinion the best way to enjoy the Mexican Riviera. You don't have to plan your time around structured dining times. Eat when you want, where you want and enjoy their non formal atmosphere. The food was mostly great with a few " hit and misses". The bartenders for the most part were really fun and made the trip even more enjoyable. Service through out ...

This was our third cruise, We have been choosing different cruise lines to compare whiich is best for us. The Royal Carib and Princess were first. We rated this vacation as 5/5. We liked the ship, the food, the people, the room, the bathroom, the balcony, and the entertainment. The buffet was always delicious and the formal dinners were fantastic. Our dining experiences were all good and satisfactory from breakfast to dinner. We tried different restaurants and they were all excellent in food and services. All the waiters and attendants gave excellent services including our stateroom person. The shows and entertainment were great. The gym has modern equipment that I was able to use and enjoyed. We enjoyed playing in the casino ...
