We love Norwegian and Bermuda, This trip we picked a smaller ship, the Dawn. After sailing on the larger ships I imagine we had a high expectation. This ship the food at the complimentary restaurants was not very good. The buffet was not good at all. The higher sit down restaurants were of but very few. Most of the servers didn't understand English.
The staff was very rude or dismissive most of ...
We take one or more cruises a year and usually travel on Norwegian because of the freestyle dining.
This voyage was below average starting from embarkation (that was delayed over 2 hours) to poor supply management (they ran out of some wines, liquors, mixers, and even supplies for the splash academy) to below average cleaning crews, and bad communications, especially at disembarkation.
The ...
We sailed on 11/2/19, we decided to upgrade to the Haven. Big mistake. The up charge was not worth what we received. No priority embarkation, staff at the pier was rude and discourteous, no special service in the room or from the butler. Butler did bring our meals when requested. Room service would have done the same for a fee of $8 per delivery, which is much cheaper than the Haven up charge, ...
We just arrived back from the 7 day cruise from NYC to Bermuda on the Norwegian Dawn. This was not our first trip on the Dawn, we had caught it out of Boston about five years ago, and the ship is sadly showing its age. Arriving at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Saturday November 2nd we were met with a slow and really disorderly boarding because the gangway had been damaged by high winds by ...
Cabin was fine as noted below. However I did notice that the carpet could have been cleaner. Bathroom was tight but well laid out.
1). Fun party boat with mostly middle age and younger folks. (A waiter told us the average age on this 4 day Bermuda weekend cruise was 48 as compared to an 11 night Canada/New England just prior to our sailing where the average age was 68!)
2). Local folk ...
It was the closest cruise to our 50th anniversary date.
Friends had recommended Norwegian.
Long time waiting to get aboard, Much better getting off ourselves.
We were VERY disappointed in our "Ultimate dining package " We found out at the first restaurant, first night, that it was only good for ONE meal ! I had made reservations for each of the 4 nights, thinking I was getting 4 meals. ...
While Norwegian has no control over the weather, thank you Florence, our trip to Canada that was supposed to be Bermuda wasn't a total washout.
I like the Dawn overall. The style and decor of the ship was very nice. It was easy to get around and it was exceptionally clean. As a smoker, I know just how nasty the smoking area can be, and even that was kept in tip top shape. Kudo's to the ...
NCL is our only cruise line we have been on 8 cruises with them. This most recent cruise was the lowest quality out of all the others. It was unfortunate that there were so many low quality things that happened. We had two other couples with us as well and they experienced the same issues. This is definitely not the norm. There were plenty of nice and hard working employees on the ship but the bad ...
Us - we're experienced cruisers and platinum plus NCL.
The not so good
Embarkation - Boston does not have priority boarding for platinum and above. We asked multiple people, all said the same thing. "We don't do that here". NCL needs to be consistent, either have or not at every port.
Food - worst food we ever had on an NCL ship, across the board.
-Buffet for breakfast is terrible. ...
We picked Norwegian cruise to Bermuda, because the Boston port and Bermuda schedule (2 overnights stay in Bermuda), so we can spend more time in Bermuda and beautifully beaches.
Dawn is a middle size ship and kind old. The breakfast was great and late night shows were very good. Not too much activities we were interested, one small swim pool with too many people (hot pools too). Most ...
