We chose this cruise to see the fall colors. We have cruised over 40 times, mostly with Princess and several times on the Crown. We had a balcony on Caribe, very spacious, but somewhat dated decor. We arrived in NY several days in advance and stayed near Times Square, saw some family and went to a show. Lots to see and do in NYC. Took uber to the Ferry on Wall St to get to Red Hook, very easy to ...
I chose this cruise due to no solo supplement for the 7 night Canada New England Sept cruise! I was also on the Crown in June for Norway. It is an older ship and needs work.
I was very disappointed regarding both the Lotus spa pool and the Thermal Suite. On both of my cruises, the spa pool was closed numerous times supposedly for mechanical issues. I seemed to get different answers ...
New England itinerary and ports were fantastic. We took a ship excursion every day, and were extremely satisfied.
Having been on many cruises, the Crown Princess was disappointing. It is relatively new, 3000+ passengers, yet the rooms are much smaller than most ships that we have been on. Like the early 1980's ships, there was barely enough room to walk(sideways) around the cabin. I would ...
Sept 14th to 24th, 2011 - Crown Princess - Canada/New England cruise.
Embarkation & Disembarkation - Smooth and efficient.
Food was a major disappointment. Horizon Court's food was always lukewarm. We had chosen anytime dinning and we felt the service was slow and most of the food not well prepared (fish dry, veal tough, etc).
Bars - our favorite was the Crooners bar. Great drinks and ...
Since we sailed round trip from NY we never had to debark in Quebec. We were driven to the Cruise Terminal in Brooklyn and from the time we arrived at the curb until we opened our cabin door was 30 minutes. Same on departure we selected the latest departure time 10:20 and were at the curb by 10:50.
The food was generally poor, especially tough beef and pork and undercooked potatoes and ...
Having cruised approximately ten times on various other lines I would rate this one 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Expecting Princess to be exceptional, we were disappointed. We heard complaints from many other passengers who had cruised Princess before and said it didn't used to be this way.
We especially did not like the configuration of the ship. Other cruises have a comfortable lounge from ...
This was a great trip! We did all of our research on Cruise Critic and this made the trip for us! Our Background - My husband and I are both in our 40's and wanted to try something different. Our main focus when deciding on which cruise to take is the port stops. We have done many Caribbean cruises and one Mediterranean cruise. We have sailed with NCL, RCCL, Carnival and did one with the R1, ...
Overall, my husband and I had an enjoyable time on this cruise. However, Princess Cruise lines and the Crown Princess have several areas on which they need to improve if they want to keep customers. My husband has traveled on many cruises with his family over the past 10 years, so he is able to compare his experiences.
The embarkation was very easy. It was much easier than I remember on a ...
We were two couples traveling together ages from 57 to 63. This was our first cruise on Princess. We have been on 4 previous cruises - Celebrity to Alaska, RCI to Caribbean two times, and HAL to the Mexican Riviera. I only saw about 6 children on this cruise, and we thought the average age seemed to be about 70. I was very impressed with the workers on the ship - everyone seemed helpful and tried ...
First let me say that we had a wonderful cruise on the Crown! This was our first cruise on Princess, having only cruised on HAL, we did alot of comparing of the two lines. I have to say they are more different than we anticipated.
Embarkation: Our cruise had quite a stressful start. We utilized the NE Motorcoach through Princess, we've done this before (with HAL) & it's easy & cheaper than ...
