This was our second cruise with Viking and I believe Viking has the best staff/crew of any cruise line. They make the cruise truly enjoyable and always make you feel welcomed. The scenery while cruising the Rhine is beautiful. One thing to consider when taking a river cruise is how good of shape you are in, most of the excursions recquire a lot of walking and over cobblestone streets or, in ...
This was a somewhat spontaneous cruise for us, as we had an unexpected travel window open up. After searching various destinations and travel options, I found this one with the PERFECT itinerary and booked a cabin just a month before departure. I've read various reviews and they are all either glowing or damning for Oceania and I really wasn't sure what to expect. What I kept saying to my husband ...
I wanted to respond to all the negative reviews of this ship based on the May cruise where the ship didn't serve alcohol the first three days of a cruise around the U.K. I quizzed the bartenders and this did happen because of issues between Norwegian and the UK alcohol/tax authorities. But the reviews saying the food and service on this ship were bad are all lies. My wife and I were on the Star ...
Had been on Iona and was very impressed so we thought we would try Arvia which has that little bit extra. On boarding at Southampton was easier than usual. The lifts were busy so we had to walk from deck 6 upto deck 15. Cabin as expected and no issues here at all. Ship overall in excellent shape.
Dining - no issues with the food as plenty of choice as well as restaurants. What let's the dining ...
Having been on a few cruises but never with P&O or sailing from Southampton we chose to do a med cruise with this company. We didn't regret it. We had the most fantastic holiday on this very smart ship, The Arvia. P&O have really thought of everything. Our balcony and facilities were well-planned, spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the exceptional food and the service was excellent. We ...
My sister booked two cabins. These two cabins were miles apart ours mid deck 6 theirs deck 14 at the front of the ship. The cabin phones were faulty for 24 hours which meant we could not contact them. There just to many people on this ship. The queues started at embarkation point at Southampton and finished we left the docks after the cruise. The first 24+ hours the booking system was not usable, ...
The cruise was sold as a Europe Cruise but in fact we only visited Spain.
The main issue must be with the P&O can simply not cope with the number of passengers on board. The reservation system introduced for many of the facilitates and amenities is call “virtual queuing” and simply means that P&O tell you when you can come and join an actual queue. The restaurants do in fact have adequate ...
Valiant Lady. French Daze & Ibiza Nights. 11- 18 June 2023
First time cruiser travelling with close friend. Drawn to Virgin because of the ‘no children’ policy. Interested in cruising due to a fascination with the size and impressive engineering of the boat and the chance to feel very small when looking out at the big wide ocean.
Had my fears that the demographic would either be too old or ...
My wife and I love cruising. We live in South Florida and have cruised all over the world. Europe is our favorite area to sail. It would be our first time on P&O and I specifically selected this ship for the destinations and the newness of the ship.
The Cabin:
Excellent in every way. 5 Stars. Our was was a delight. Spacious with good sized bathroom. In-room entertainment fabulous. I would ...
We'd been sailing with other lines for a few years and decided to go back to Oceania mainly for the smaller ships. Right from the start it was bad. Didn't get into our stateroom until at least 3:00 p.m. The balcony was so noisy we couldn't use it, the shower so small my husband had to open the door to pick up the soap if he dropped it, the bottom of the shower was filthy and the beds were mush. ...
