We LOVE Istanbul. We booked three nights there and were so glad we did. Perfect day touring around on our own. Brilliant hotel called ERBOY. Only 45 euros for the room. Roomy, spotless, free wifi and internet, breakfast included, roof terrace for drinks and their sister hotel around the corner has a roof restaurant with excellent food and wines. We opted to explore Istanbul on our own. It was very easy to navigate. I highly recommend Tokapi Palace and Hagia Sophia. We were not impressed with the Blue Mosque. While exiting the Tokapi Palace we happened upon a site that said it was free to enter. It was the tombs of the Sultans and their families. This was extremely interesting. I recommend stopping there.
