I went on my first MSC cruise on 12/04 with my kids and niece and all of us were so impressed and really enjoyed the cruise. I booked a 3 night on Meragvilia out of Port Canaveral to their private island. It was such a gorgeous ship and we really enjoyed the gelato, silent disco, beach day on the private island, and the ship was so clean and beautiful. The private island was a great visit and at night they had a beach party with a light show, very fun. During the day the private island included a buffet lunch and food trucks that served burgers, hot dogs and some snacks. There was one food truck at cost that seemed reasonable priced that had some seafood items like lobster rolls (I did not try). We had a balcony room on the 8th level and we fit very comfortably. The room layout and decor was very nice and practical. There was a special kids 11 and under sailed free, just pay the taxes and we got $100 on board credit. It was an amazing deal.

Entertainment: we saw the included rock show and that was good and we went to the paid show that had some acrobats and the paid show was awful. I would stick to the included entertainment only.

A few things that are different from other lines, there are only two dining options included, the main dining room which offered different menu daily and was very good and the buffet offered many variety of options and very good. The pizza is delicious in the buffet area and taste like pizza you get in Italy. Later hours is harder to find something to eat. There are specialty restaurants at cost if you want something different. On our cruise the complimentary ice cream was only available up to 7pm. There is only pizza and some light snacks after 9p. For those of you that are big water drinkers I strongly recommend bringing a refillable bottle so you can keep water with you and back to your cabin. They don’t have many water stations.

Cabin Review

Level 8, great comfortable balcony room for family of 4.

Port Reviews

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Ocean Cay private island is beautiful and we loved spending the day there and getting back off the ship in the evening for the light show and beach party was fun.
