We went with a large group (100+) organized by a very reputable agency. The agency owner & key organizer traveled with us & did their best to address issues, but...
The room was consistently over 75 Fahrenheit - even after two visits from engineering staff. Front desk said it wasn't possible to send a fan... In a truly bizarre twist, the cold water was over 100 Fahrenheit - I've never before had a hot cold shower.
Before booking, specified that we would need multiple electrical outlets at bedside (both use CPAP + other med device) - no problem. When we arrived, there was a 1-outlet extension cord & no outlets near bed. It took 2 calls & 3 increasingly heated visits to customer service before finally getting a 3-outlet strip to use with the cord.
Partner uses a 48-lb collapsible power chair, but can do short standing transfers. There are no accessible excursions on this voyage... none. Had a great time on the islands hiring our own (considerably cheaper) private excursion or renting a car.
Cabin hallways are consistently clogged with housekeeping carts.
The cruise director is regularly on the overhead screeching about the latest sale & the entire ship is designed around squeezing out every dollar possible.
The 'Sports Deck' has no sports... it's the kid's area.
Some of the staff were truly exceptional. Some of the dining room dishes were excellent and creative. Most of the theater presentations were excellent.
Glad we got the larger room. There is plenty of storage. Fit & finish acceptable.
There are no electrical outlets in the bedroom area
Don't pay $$ for the clam-shell umbrella. Most of the other guests just grab them up & there is no management of who paid what.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Drivers are friendly & directed us to great dining
The port area is very nice & it's a short ride into town.
There are taxi hucksters everywhere - bargain hard, it's not that far.
1 step out of customs & you are barraged by a 150 yard gauntlet of rude men trying to sell taxi services. There is probably something worth-while to see on the island, but the port area is not among these. The Vendor Mart has some interesting things, but nearly all of the booths are exactly the same & there is a constant din of people trying to sell T-shirts & magnets.
Basically, the whole experience was like being attacked by a swarm of roaches. Even the port area does not feel safe.
Had a little difficulty connecting w/driver at first. Wow Tours operations helped us connect with Jason. He is simply a great guy. Took us to the Pitons - very knowledgeable about the island. Little side-trips to interesting sites along the way. Knows the best places for photos.View All 300 Island Tour Reviews
Didn't have much energy, so just shopped around port.
Rented a car & drove around the island.
The coast drive is delightful with many long views. The posted speed limit is 20 mph - but locals drive like they're on fire.
Belle Mont Farm is both beautiful & delicious!View All 293 Island tour Reviews
