  3. Freedom of the Seas
My family of five, two older daughters and a younger daughter of 12, sailed Freedom of the Seas to the Southern Caribean this past July. Unfortunately our cruise began with a death of a fellow passenger on the boat within just a few hours of arriving on the ship. This very much tainted the feelings around our entire vacation. This was our first cruise with Royal Caribean and to the Caribean. We had cruised to Alaska before with Princess and Holland America. Cabins: 5 Great cabins, we had adjoining rooms theough the balconies. We had no issues with our rooms. Dining: 2 The only food we really enjoyed was food in the main dining room. We found the buffet crowded all the time with very poor quality food. The food at the buffet seemed to stay the same from day to day with the same low quality. The restaurants that cost extra were good, but it seemed like they were trying to gorge you witth so much food. Embarkation: 3 Despite the death at the beginning of the cruise, the captain did his best to get the cruise to leave as timely as possible. I respect how well this cruise staff dealt with this tragedy and how this must have affected schedules/vacations/ect. Enrichment Activities: 1 It seemed like the only activities planned were trivia or things that cost money dealing with different shops on the boat. Entertainment: 1 The entertainment was awful. The shows were terrible, the ice show was terrible, the acts they brought on the boat such as an acapella group were also terrible. So disappointing! Service: 5 Our favorite part of this cruise were the different employees and how kind and helpful they were. We liked to hear their stories and where they were from.
