Just back off a 14 night cruise in the Baltic on Silhouette with our 15-yr-old son. It was our first time with Celebrity, after having been with P&O (Ventura) and RCI (Navigator OTS), and we were largely impressed – the negatives being so minor we intend to do a similar cruise again next year on the same ship.
Getting the negatives out of the way to start with –
We were on deck 6 and found that occasionally the noise from the entertainment was intrusive, but it never went on too late so it never became a big problem.
The maintenance of the cabin was excellent – we wanted for nothing, and what minor requests were implemented immediately. The TV in the cabin had plenty of channels – internal ones with daily updates from the cruise director about what was on that day (a very full itinerary of shows, quizes, etc), and also channels about future cruises, and the ports we were visiting – and then there was several news channels (BBC, SKY, etc) and SKY sports too. There was a free movies channel with up-to-date films which was refreshed after the first week. The sofa bed for our son was permanently set up and was a proper full length one too.
The bathroom, as stated, had plenty of storage, the shower had sliding doors (not the silly shower curtain), and there was a permanent night light so you don't need to put the full light on if you go to the loo in the middle of the night.
