We were on the Ruby (Princess). Ports of call were Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria, and a day in Glacier Bay. Our room on deck 5 was perfect because we did not feel the rock of the ship and it was close to the piazza and International Cafe.
Embarkation was very easy. We were welcomed by our Steward for the week. Our luggage was brought to the room after we had lunch.
There was a wide variety of activities on the ship. We enjoyed the game shows, magician, Acoustic Rush(violin, guitar duo), the musicals, the Princess choir(volunteer), the newly assembled Cabaret Show with the Cruise director "Kass",and the pianist.Amazing music talent! We viewed the videos about Alaska.
There were many shops for buying jewelry and souvenirs of the cruise.
We enjoyed the "anytime dining" because the food was delicious at the buffets and the dining rooms. We enjoyed being seated with other couples as we met people from 5 different countries.
Excursions we can recommend:
Juneau- Alaska museum, Mendenhall Glacier and Mount Roberts Tram Skagway- White Pass Scenic Railway and bus tour of city, sculpture garden, museum and '98 show. Ketchikan- Lighthouse, Totems, and Eagles boat ride. Glacier Bay day at sea was incredible watching the glaciers cav. We saw whales and dolphins.
Everyone on the ship was friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. Steward was very helpful. Princess printed our boarding passes and took luggage to airport for us when it was time to leave. We had 3 days of rain but it did not hamper enjoyment of the beauty and grandeur of Alaska.
We recommend Princess Cruises
Our cabin was on deck 5. It was great location for having the steadiness of the boat and convenient to International cafe and piazza(activity area). The room was quiet and very clean.
