We booked this cruise to celebrate our venture into being empty nesters. We wanted complete and utter relaxation, great food and luxurious treatment...we got everything we asked for, and more.

We arrived in Florida the day before, stayed with family and headed to the port early Sunday morning. We arrived just about 10am, had a minimal wait to get through security, more because the large group in front of us had struggles with passports and paperwork and less because of the port personnel. We easily found the Haven checkin location - it is literally immediately after security to the left. We entered, had a short wait to check in, longest part of check in came when the young man had to leave the room to go reprint one of our key cards, because it wasn't working. We then waited about 5 minutes and were escorted upstairs. We waited there for about 20 minutes and were escorted onto the ship. We went up to the Haven for a quick orientation, dropped our bags in our room (wasn't quite ready to park in, but we were allowed access), and headed to Margaritaville for lunch.

Our lunch at Margaritaville was our least memorable. I was not impressed. The service was wonderful, the food was ok, and the atmosphere quiet, but with so much really good included food on board, we weren't drawn to go back.

Cabin Review

The Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H5

This is a perfect cabin for a romantic trip for two. The bed is extremely comfortable and comes with very soft bedding. We asked for additionally hypo allergenic pillows from the precruise concierge and they were on the bed when we arrived. The room had a decent amount of storage for two...only two issues with storage: 1) not much space for our own snorkel gear and 2) the safe will not hold anything bigger than a phone/wallet/passport. iPads were too big. There was a bit of noise from the sun deck upstairs, but we only noticed it a few times, and sounded more like something occasionally banging in the wind when the ship was really cruising rather than just regular people noise. We were right across the hall from the Haven lounge, restaurant and courtyard, making this a perfect spot to hang out when we didn't want to venture downstairs. Our butler Charlie was phenomenal!

Costa Maya

We walked on the beach in the morning and then spent the day getting spa services.
