Great fun, but a bit Holiday-Camp.

A good 2nd RC cruise, generally.

The ship is lovely; there's lots to do. The food is great, the staterooms nice and the staff/service are amazing.

Sadly it's getting quite Butlins. For the price, it's less swish and luxurious than you'd imagine, especially compared to other lines.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Great room, quite spacious, well kept and a lovely little balcony. The attendant was amazing- so helpful, charming and attentive.

The sea was choppy (Not RC's fault) but the boat did lurch loads on the days at sea, which was horrible, but not much you can do about that!

Port Reviews

Southampton

This was the start, but embarkation was efficient, clear and straightforward. Staff were obliging and helpful and it was all very quick.

Bilbao

Travelled into Bilbao on our own steam, which was lovely. Saw plenty of Getxo (the actual port) which was beautiful, with a stunning, quiet, empty beach, then took the train to Bilbao. A beautiful city- nice riverside, and a lovely old town. Well worth a visit, and lovely to do without the official excursions if you don't mind some walking.

Paris

Le Havre is the port, so we just explored here rather than do a day trip to Paris. The excursion seemed to entail hours on coaches, so we gave that a miss. Le Havre is small and quiet, but quite nice. A very industrial port, then a pleasant riverside walk to a nice square and a small shopping centre. Not somewhere to spend a day, but nice to explore/grab some food.
