Sail Date: Aug 2017

We've been on about 8 Carnival cruises. We knew Sunshine was formerly Destiny, on which we also sailed. While we enjoyed our cruises on Destiny, we were disappointed in Sunshine.

First, the bad: They took away the seating on Deck 5 between the casino and the back of the ship. This was the perfect spot to relax, play cards, read, and make new friends. Some of the clubs at the back of Deck 5 were done away with while others were moved to other floors to make room for more passenger cabins.

While Carnival made room for more guests, they didn't hire any extra crew to accommodate them, or so it seemed. Breakfast in the dining room was a nightmare. We waited 45 minutes to be seated and then we were squeezed into a portion of the half-empty dining room. When we asked to be moved, we were told there wasn't enough wait staff. The tables were so squeezed together that my husband had to get up several times to allow other guests to pass. Dinner was a little better, but the wait staff was really hustling to take care of their tables.
