I chose this cruise because it was a quick get away. I have never cruised for less than 7 days so I was surprised how many activities were eliminated on a 5 day. I look forward to Captains cocktail party, lobster"night",Bakes Alaska parade, Balloon drop in the Piazza..none of these happened on this cruise. Most disappointing was that the MDR was not open on embarkation day. I love having a relaxing lunch after my travels to the port. I felt like it was just a "sell, sell, sell" cruise. Effy, the jewelry store had a raffle every 2 hours to entice passengers into their store. I don't know if this was a typical 5 day cruise or not,but it definately wasn't what I was used to. The ship itself (RubyPrincess) was well maintained and the crew was great. Passengers did bring Noro on board ( they were sick the first night right after embarkation) but Princess but the Noro protocol in place immediately and I believe the numbers of sickies was limited. I will do more research before I take a short get away cruise.
