This was our first trip with Royal Caribbean and our first time to visit the Greek Isles. We thoroughly enjoyed the ports on this trip. Athens was the highlight, but we also liked Crete and Corfu. The ship was small compared to most that we've sailed on with only one main dining room. Food was average; some nights my husband ordered multiple appetizers, as there wasn't anything that appealed to him on the entree list. Service was excellent, however. We ate at the early dinner seating, and were lucky enough to sit with two other couples each evening and share our stories of the day. Our one evening that we dined in the specialty steak house was enjoyable...the steak cooked to perfection...Pittsburg rare. We participated in the dance contest and ping pong, but hadn't time for other activities, as we were in port every day with the exception of one sea day at the end. It would've probably been difficult to occupy our time if we had many sea days, but with a full itinerary as far as ports of call, we were kept quite busy.
This was our second trip to Venice and we LOVE it! We rode a gondola this time; though a bit expensive, it was worth it! We took the vaporator to Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Most interesting tour. The blown glass in Murano was gorgeous and the lace products in Burano were lovely. Torcello is somewhat deserted, but an experience, if you have time.
Shopping was great here. Lots of fun!
We took the express bus into the city with no problem and were able to visit the Acropolis on our own. What can I say...it was unreal...absolutely fabulous! We had time to take in the shopping area, too. We took a taxi back to the ship since we were running short on time. Cost was only 12 Euros.
