We booked this cruise to try out the big ships. Well, been there: done that. We won't book this class of ship again. Primary complaint: too many people. The ship is designed with many venues, all of which are relatively small. The result is that there is always a line for everything (including the Windjammer). Even when you have pre-booked tickets for a show it is necessary to stand in line in order to get a seat. We did enjoy the shows (especially Chicago) but there were not enough shows for all 12 nights. So, if we didn't have a show booked there was really nothing to do after dinner until around 10:00. They did have musical groups playing in the Promenade, but it is too noisy & crowded to even hear them. They also had musical groups in Central Park, but there is very limited seating.

We did appreciate the walking/jogging track. It was nice to be able to walk around the entire ship without having to go through a smoking area.

We usually will eat breakfast in the Windjammer. Well, that was unpleasant. The tables are so close together I don't know how the (many) people who have mobility issues managed. At times it was necessary to have a reservation to get into the Windjammer! On this cruise we switched to the Solarium for breakfast, and it was an improvement. At lunch we often will eat at the Windjammer, but crowds & the abysmal food chased us to the dining room, which was actually quite good. Dinners in the main dining room were decently good.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom

Cabin CV

Do not book this cabin!!! We had booked a "guarantee ocean view" which apparently means "a view of something." We learned that when we are on a cruise, we'd rather see ocean. This was the noisiest room we've ever had in our 16 cruises to date. Every night between 12:30 am & 2:30 am it sounded like someone below us was stacking lumber. And every night from midnight until 3:00 or so, we could hear loud talking & doors slamming. People, I must ask, can you not enter or exit your cabin without slamming the door? We did not get much sleep during this cruise.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Stayed one night before embarkation. The Hampton Inn Cruise Port South was very convienient & provided transportation from the airport & to the cruiseport.

Malaga

We enjoy Malaga as a port. We did not book an excursion as we are familiar with the area. We walked around the city & found an excellent spot for tapas & cava.
