Overall, the cruise was nice, for those things that Carnival had control of. This is the second time I have left from Long Beach, and they have definitely improved the embarkment process. We knew the weather on sea days in December was iffy, and it was. Rough seas, high winds and clouds don’t make for great days at sea. It’s nice that they have a retractable roof on the Lido pool area. The Splendor is ready for a rehab. She’s showing some wear and tear. The crew was great! We chose this cruise for the itinerary and met several cruisers who had been on this same cruise 3-10 times. We're pretty savvy on Princess, having sailed with them multiple times, previously. My impression is that service is excellent (i.e., if they're having a bad day, it rarely shows). Choose this cruise for a few reasons.
First didn’t have to fly which was great then for the destinations.
Wife and I took cruises before but this was First with Princess, it was ok, different from others.
