As good as ever

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

I was unfortunately quarantined with Covid for the middle six days of this cruise, and therefore had not intended to write a review, because my impressions would be at best partial. Nonetheless I am doing so because my perceptions are at variance with some of the more negative comments in other reviews, and I felt there should be some balance. So, the good points. Firstly, universally, the ...

Poor food selection and taste

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We don't fly so the QM2 is our way to return from Europe. This is the first time we have sailed with Cunard and I was very disappointed. First, the good parts, our cabin was very nice. We choose an inside cabin to try and settle our seasickness. We have a balcony cabin with NCL on the way over. The ship was clean and tidy. The bad, food selection was not good. The same kinds of food ...

Happily Much Improved

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We've sailed on Cunard and the QM2 16 times, mostly ocean crossings, and have enjoyed 39 cruises overall. We love the QM2 because of unique ocean liner status, the gorgeous public rooms, and the scheduled Atlantic crossings. We completed 2 other crossings since Covid and were concerned with all sorts of problems that had cropped up such as untrained staff and broken equipment. But for this ...

So disappointing

We have sailed on 15+ voyages. We have sailed on Premium lines such as Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and now Cunard, we have sailed on a specialty brand, Star Clippers and Luxury brands, Crystal and Azamara, we are not new to sailing. I had a bucket list item to take a Transatlantic on a Cunard ship for over 40 years. I was diagnosed with stage four cancer, and realized, if I did not do ...

Big problems in the buffet

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We chose the QM2 because husband, an engineer, wanted to experience the one and only Oceanliner. This was our first and only cruise on a Cunard ship. We actually were on the ship for 20 days—Southampton all the way to NYC. Every time we had breakfast or lunch in the buffet area it was a chaotic mess. And interestingly, we never received a survey from Cunard after completion of our cruise, so my ...

Bobbing along

Cunard enjoys a reputation as a luxury cruise provider and the Queen Victoria (QV) is elegantly furnished throughout. I would accept that constant use is going to have an impact on the fabric of the ship but in general it is well maintained. Dining at the Princess Grill is excellent with very attentive staff, a good menu choice and a relaxing atmosphere. Other areas of the ship also offered ...

A once premium experience on the edge of implosion

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Victoria

Chose this cruise as a quick getaway with my father. The ship itself is beautiful and a testament to great ship design. It’s not the most modern ship but internally in decent shape, cabins nice and well appointed if not they do lack electrical outlets and other modern touches. As per other reviews, boarding was an odd affair with people held I. The terminal and boarded by seat row. Terminal ...

Disappointed

Cunard really need to get it’s act together, the ship is failing in so many areas. Constantly changing the excursion itinerary, length of stay at ports, even the various destinations of the cruise is both annoying and frustrating. Information provided via the pamphlets left in cabin bare no relationship to the information on their onboard website. Confuse the two at your peril - cancellation ...

Quite possibly our last ever Cunard cruise - The "Fine Line" was anything but.

There were so many problems with this special trip, that its hard to know where to start. Lots of other passengers felt exactly the same way. We have no intention on travelling with Cunard again, unless they do something to make amends. Firstly the big one - being lied to by Cunard, and then this being spun as a "unique opportunity". The ship was faulty, and had been arranged to go into dry ...
