Our only previous experience of RCI cruises was a Med trip on Liberty of the Sea which had the wow factor. This cruise was less spectacular - apart from the destinations themselves. Check in at Harwich and disembarkation from ship very easy and we'll organized. Itinerary for the Baltic great. This was our 8th cruise, first and probably last with Royal Caribbean. This was cruise number 10, all with Royal.
Check in in Harwich was very easy, parking so close to the terminal and the curtesy bus was waiting for us. When we got to the terminal there was no demand for a tip either. If going by train, the train station is next to the hanger wher you check in, no taxi's needed like Southampton.

This was our second cruise; the first was with Olsen. We thought the much more modern Brilliance would be better.
Embarkation was reasonably easy and straightforward.
The first night we ate in the Minstrel restaurant; MyTime dining however was a bit fraught, and we had a job to get seats. The food was OK, but service very average. From then on, we went to the Windjammer.

My first cruise on Brilliance and one of only a handful on RCCL. To begin our Scandinavian cruise I parked at Park Plus at JFK for $228 for 14 days. We booked our cruise after buying a Groupon in the USA. Our agent was professional and everything went smoothly. We were in England on vacation prior to the cruise, and we are very familiar with their trains. However, if for you that isn't the case, no worry, as there is an express train that goes directly to Harwich, with just a short walk to outside the door of the cruise terminal.

Food-- Upon boarding we went to eat. It looked like leftovers from the last trip. The mashed potatoes had no flavor or taste. I just can't describe them. Cold and tasteless I guess. The cookies were not fresh. Must have bought them at the day old store. Food in general was way below average.
