Corporate Event Dominates the Cruise

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This is our second cruise with Regent, our first was on the Explorer and was a wonderful experience. Compared to the Explorer, the Voyager is somewhat shabby and is in need of an upgrade. The food was generally fine but not as excellent as I remember the food on the Explorer being. There are also fewer dining options. The Wi-Fi was glitchy, but perhaps that's to be expected on ...

Nice but flawed

This is our second cruise with Regent, we embarked in Istanbul and went (are still going) around the Eastern Mediterranean. The butler and steward are fantastic they always have a smile and are super helpful, nothing we have asked for is too much work for them. The food was mostly ok, not wow but ok, we did have one bad meal - lunch at the compass rose, the burger was undercooked, potatoes ...

Fantastic experience on Viking Sky

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

My wife and I chose this cruise (21 days, from Istanbul to Athens to Venice to Rome) because we had never cruised the Mediterranean before, and since we enjoy history, this cruise covered many of the historical sites of the Eastern Mediterranean, including Istanbul Troy, Ephesus, Athens, Olympia, Pompeii and Rome; there are very few sea days, basically a new port every day. Plus, this cruise had ...

We had a great time with Viking Cruises

We chose this cruise of ancient antiquities as we had never been to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. We had a great time on the Viking Sky. We especially enjoyed the people that we met on board. We loved the educational lectures. The food was tremendous, all venues were great. The included specialty coffees were very much appreciated. The included excursions were pretty good. The number of cruisers ...

Disappointing

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We chose this particular cruise because the itinerary included three places we wanted to visit. It was our first experience with Oceania and will be our last. When we signed up or the trip, we were unaware of how Oceania differs from most or all other cruise lines. We have cruised with most of the better known lines, in the Baltic, Alaska, Hawaii, Carribean, Panama, Cuba, Bahamas, and on most ...

Horrible experience on Oceania Marina...nothing luxury about this cruise

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We sailed on the Oceania Marina for the Mediterranean Splendors cruise, from Istanbul to Lisbon last month. We selected this cruise line as it was consistently identified in a short-list of luxury cruise lines, and it sailed to destinations we were interested in seeing. We have only been on one other cruise with Crystal Cruises, so our reference point is limited. However, after 12 days on ...

Incredible, excursion-packed trip with NO at-sea days

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Star

We chose this cruise because of the many ports and countries, and ZERO at-sea days. Our primary reason for cruising is to see as much as we can, off of the ship. Viking delivered. The food was great for the most part, though we thought the Chef's Table was overrated, and much preferred Manifredi's. The buffet was pretty good, with only a few dishes that we didn't care for. Lots of seafood, ...

Good but there are better ships and cruise lines

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Encore

It is great to be cruising again, this is our 6th post Covid cruise. This was our second Seabourn post covid cruise. the others on Odyssey plus Crystal (pre bankruptcy), Oceania, and Regent. What attracted us to Encore was this itinerary which most cruise lines do NOT undertake -- both the Greek and Turkish riviera with many small islands like Kos, Kas, Cesme, Mykonos, Cyprus, plus Bodrum, ...

Not the Seabourn it used to be

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Encore

My wife and I have sailed with Seabourn many times and were looking forward to our post-pandemic cruise. However, we were disappointed with the level of service provided by Seabourn and it is definitely not at the superior quality the cruise line used to offer. First off, the wait staff in the dining areas are all great and diligent as before and so are the cabin service personnel. However, ...

Exhausting, But We Loved It!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Venus

We took a 15 day Ancient Med Treasures cruise which is really two 7 day cruises, back to back. It worked out well, with an extra day in Athens. This cruise had a very nice itinerary. We also added the two day pre-cruise extension in Istanbul. It is really a one day extension, with too much "free time" at the hotel. Even though the Conrad hotel is gorgeous, it's not within walking distance ...
