The ship is lovely, all paneled walls and elegant furnishings. People have referred to it as old world. I also like very much that it is smaller than the ones we have been on in the past. A big plus was that Nautica, being a small ship, was able to dock close to several of the city centres rather than at the more distant ports. Ship hat fabulous locations for ports, in HK one could walk to Kowloon. In Saigon one could walk to the center of town. In Bangkok it was 15 min by cab. Just make sure to leave the harbor and get a normal taxi. The once in the Harbor are a ripoff.

Maybe it's a matter of expectations and what you consider expensive. With an average verandah room and the cost of $16,000 for a 15 day cruise, we had high expectations. We have previously traveled on Oceania. Nautica is an ancient ship that should be retired.

We have completed 5 cruises, 3 on Nautica back to back and 2 on Marina back to back in the last 18 months. Chose to return to Nautica for our 6th cruise of 18 nights as we found Marina impersonal and lacking the atmosphere of Nautica.
