This cruise where specially choosen becuase of a promise from our agent and the cruise liner, it should have been a nice, comfortable and entertaining tour for a transatlantic travel from Rome to Tampa in Florida.

Transatlantic. We chose this cruise because we'd cruised with HAL twice previously on the Nieuw Amsterdam (2012 and 2013) and loved it. We booked this cruise on Koningsdam expecting it to be a WOW experience. Very disappointing . We have been on this very ship several times before. Things have changed. Very little entertainment and slow dining service. They seem to have reduced dining wait staff. Having sailed on the Nieuw Amsterdam before, I was so disappointed in the entertainment. One night there was no show at all! The music was mostly Motown, not my favorite. The HAL Cats were missing. The ballroom dancing was not available some nights and the band had never played together before this cruise so it took too long between songs and they did not play long enough.

My wife and myself have cruised with numerous other cruise lines and this was our first with Holland American and probably the last. The Captain of the Eurodam was probably the most interactive Captain that were have ever sailed with. We were very impressed with the dining room steward, room steward, and the selection of food.
