This cruise where specially choosen becuase of a promise from our agent and the cruise liner, it should have been a nice, comfortable and entertaining tour for a transatlantic travel from Rome to Tampa in Florida. Our experiences from those 15 days onboard are following; - our veranda cabin on the Navigator deck (8) was very nice - the service staff for the cabin where ok - the service ...

Transatlantic. We chose this cruise because we'd cruised with HAL twice previously on the Nieuw Amsterdam (2012 and 2013) and loved it. We booked this cruise on Koningsdam expecting it to be a WOW experience. We were disappointed with the experience and will not return to the Koningsdam and would carefully consider if indeed we go back to HAL at all. We felt that the quality of food, service, ...

For some background, we: - are both around 70 years old and very active - have been on HAL cruises exclusively since 1998 (this was our 12th) - have sailed on three S-class, one R-class, and all the Vistas/Signatures except the Westerdam - normally book either Signature or Neptune suites - have never written a negative review of any HAL cruise on any site in 18 years We ...

Never cruise on a new ship before, thought giving it a try, it was very disappointed, it did have few good sides, Has USB outlet by the bed, plenty of other outlets, shower is larger than other ships. loved Lincoln Center. Here are bad parts, lacked of on board programs on sea days, cruise director only showed his face once, lacked of interesting night entertainments, theater is too small, ...

Holland America is not what it used to be.

Very disappointing . We have been on this very ship several times before. Things have changed. Very little entertainment and slow dining service. They seem to have reduced dining wait staff. For a transatlantic there was very little to do, limited music options. One piano player who started late every night. Poor production shows. Trying to but the BB King Blues show in the Queen's Lounge was a ...

Having sailed on the Nieuw Amsterdam before, I was so disappointed in the entertainment. One night there was no show at all! The music was mostly Motown, not my favorite. The HAL Cats were missing. The ballroom dancing was not available some nights and the band had never played together before this cruise so it took too long between songs and they did not play long enough. The staff were ...

We have been traveling since 2000 when we visited Australia and the South Pacific. We have been on over ten cruises from many cruise lines since then, but this is the first time we have felt the strong desire to post a comment on the web. Our cruise this year was the HAL 25 Day Mediterranean Passage to America – 2014 from Venice to Ft. Lauderdale. We like transatlantic cruises because my wife has ...

My wife and myself have cruised with numerous other cruise lines and this was our first with Holland American and probably the last. The Captain of the Eurodam was probably the most interactive Captain that were have ever sailed with. We were very impressed with the dining room steward, room steward, and the selection of food. That's about all the positives that I can give this cruise! Photo ...

Nieuw Amsterdam - Not a five star ship

I booked this cruise as a follow-up to a 35 day South Pacific Cruise on the Westerdam which was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Nieuw Amsterdam had a lot more negatives than positives. I was traveling with a friend and we left Ft.Meyers,FL on October 2nd on AirBerlin. The flight was uneventful with a connection in Dusseldorff and arrival in Venice was on-time. I had booked a private transfer ...

My wife and I sailed on the April 3 FLL to Rome cruise aboard Noordam.  Our accomadations were spectacular.  The room spacious, the bathroom huge and the wrap around balcony incredible!  Going West to East on this TA, we chose the SW corner aft for our suite and it paid off in spades.  We had sun everyday from 9am until sunset on at least some part of our huge balcony.  I would have to describe ...
