This was my fourth cruise on Carnival and fifth overall; I sailed with my sister, who is retired due to medical issues. We drove down from Atlanta before the cruise and used a "stay-cruise-park free" option at the Quality Inn FLL South in Dania Beach. As promised, parking and the port shuttle were free (BOTH directions) with one night's stay...a great deal!

Embarkation was quick even though there were long lines. Disembarking was relaxing because they did not force you to leave the ship or your cabins early. To get thru customs took about an hour.
The ship is not attractive but was clean.
Muster drill is still held on deck.
The food was average, nothing to rave about but nothing really bad.

Ok, so my wife and I booked this cruise in July for our Honeymoon. Another enjoyable CCL cruise!!!
BACKGROUND: My wife and I are both retired and “lucky” to be Platinum level. We try to visit at least one new POC on every cruise or at least cruise on a ship that we haven’t been on before. PRE-CRUISE: Flew from Dayton to Atlanta to FLL with Delta. Great service no issues at all. Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dania FL. Great hotel with very friendly staff. Room was nice and clean. No issues. My only complaint here was the breakfast. It was 13.00 for crappy food. Only had 3-4 hot items. Not worth the money. Surrounded by some food places ...

We spent the night before the cruise at the Rodeway Inn and Suites. It's not a fancy hotel, but they seem to specialize in getting cruisers to and from the port and they let you leave your car at the hotel for $10 a night. At 10:15 in the morning they shuttled us the short distance to the port and we were getting to cruise.

Departed from Port Everglades, Sept 6th for a 9 day cruise. Boarding was an easy process but the terminal is a no frills affair. Being a longer cruise we had 2 formal nights which was very nice.
