Ok, so my wife and I booked this cruise in July for our Honeymoon. I was particularly drawn to the fact that I'd never sailed a southern Caribbean yet, the great price, and that the Freedom had recently been refurbished. I'll start by saying that I am not a complainer by any means and recognize how lucky I am just to be on a vacation where I get waited on hand and foot.

Embarkation, we arrived at the port around 1245pm and parked with the park and go company. They were cheaper and very fast and efficient at getting us to the terminal. I was disappointed at the terminal. The line was out the door. Once inside, the line moved terribly slow to get to the security checkpoint. Once we got to the scanners, the line stopped for 5-10 minutes and the security screeners turned their backs to us and had an apparently great conversation as we stood there wondering what was going on. Once through the scanners was another 20-25 minute wait as we weaved through the line to get out sail and sign cards (an easy process once you get to the desk). Let me be clear that the inefficiency inside the terminal is no reflection on Carnival or their staff, this appeared to be the port employees.

After getting our Sail and Sign cards, the party was on. We boarded very quickly after that and as soon at we got to the Atrium bar we bought the Cheers bar program. If you plan to drink more than 10 drinks per day as a couple than this is a great deal and I recommend it. Personally, I more than made it worthwhile. The cheers program gives you a set price that you pay up front that allows you to get up to 15 drinks per day thereafter for no additional charges.
