Having always wanted to tour Scandinavia we opted for a cruise, as this would enable us to visit all the capital cities in the easiest way possible. We chose Princess because they had one of the best itineraries among the 5-star cruise lines. What can I say; we absolutely loved this cruise - "we" being my wife and I in our mid 40s, my daughter (24) and my son (20).
We had a balcony double ...
This was our 7th cruise and probably the best yet. We like lots of ports, and this cruise featured 8, with only 2 days at sea. We had a balcony for only the second time. I thought the temperature might be too cool for us to enjoy the balcony, but that was not the case. Most days it was great. And, here is something we hadn't thought about--On the Baltic, in the summer, it is daylight from about ...
This was the first time we had a balcony and it was wonderful to be able to open our doors at anytime and breathe in the fresh air...not sure I want to go back to an interior room after this holiday. The staff were all very pleasant and greeted us with a smile. The room was cleaned to perfection twice a day with chocolates on the pillow each night. Room service, when used, was prompt and the food ...
My husband and I recently enjoyed a fantastic eleven night cruise on board the Emerald Princess in the Baltics and Russia Ref: 118 (26.06. - 07.07.11.). The weather was brilliant, the sea was incredibly calm and all of the ports we visited, apart from one, turned out to be excellent destinations. Each time we favour the independence of doing our own thing in port rather than accepting the expense ...
We sailed on this ship a few years ago in the Caribbean and enjoyed the trip and the ship, even though (and understandably) it was heavily American orientated. It was tasteful, clean and the staff were excellent. These haven't changed. This time the Baltic ports were fine but not spectacular, apart from St Petersburg. Here we took a private tour with Ulko Tours and our host Katia was brilliant in ...
Most interesting cruise we have ever taken. Not a cruise for sea days....almost every day was a port of call, and as we had never been to any of the countries visited, it was very exciting.
Boarded in Copenhagen after spending the night at the "Admiral" hotel. Very nice and close to the port.....( short cab ride ) .....
Ship was immaculate, and the staff very friendly. ...
Check-in is the fastest most efficient we and our lifetime cruising friends have encountered. The destinations exceeded expectations except for Arrhus which we would have preferred to skipped in liew of more time at some of the destinations where we only had 1/2 day. To get the most out of St. Petersburg we took a Red October private tour and we're glad to have done that as we missed the crush ...
Copenhagen was the worst city I ever visited in Europe. It was dirty, hard to find a garbage bin, even you found one, they were all full to the top with a lot of garbage around it on the floor. We arrived 4 days earlier which was a big mistake. We booked a junior suite at the Radisson Royal Blue hotel which is in a good location. But for a five star hotel, there was no turn down service, no bottle ...
We enjoyed our cruise on the Emerald Princess. Our meals at 8:15 in the Boticelli Dining Room were good, the choice varied and service was good. The air conditioning and cold draft at our table made it uncomfortable during dinner. We mentioned this several evenings but nothing was done to improve our comfort level in the room. Our cabin was well located and well serviced. Clean towels were always ...
Overall, this cruise was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to others. We were traveling with a group of 45 people, and so flew together and stayed in Copenhagen prior to embarkation at the Hotel Copenhagen Island.
The Hotel Copenhagen Island was fine. It was a bit of a walk to the central area, but not too bad, maybe 1.5 miles. They did have a wonderful breakfast ...
