We just returned from cruising on the elegant, formal and wonderful Cunard Queen Mary 2. We chose this cruise just to see this famous ship, and slowly make a safe return to the cruising experience by not traveling too far.
First of all, the ship is massive and beautiful, with a great deal of engine power. The public rooms are gorgeous and recall bygone days of glorious ship travel. We ...
This was a 3 segment cruise,
1. Southampton to New York via Le Havre, (this was Space Week).
2. New York sailing up the East Coast of USA and Canada returning to New York.
3. New York to Southampton.
We had always wanted to visit the East Coast of USA and Canada and to hopefully see the fall colours. Just a note about fall colours as you progress north you may miss the colours ...
We had not previously been on an ocean cruise, but for our 50th wedding anniversary we wanted to treat ourselves to something special. So we booked a 15-night New York to Southampton cruise with stops in Canada, Iceland, Scotland and Ireland. It was a world away from our usual quiet life in rural Tasmania, but we had high hopes that the Queen Elizabeth would give us a truly memorable cruising ...
Fantastic cruise on a great ship. Got off to a poor start in New York with a 3 hour delay in boarding. Not Cunards fault. however it would have been nice to be updated to what is happening. we received a bottle of wine from the ship as compensation.
Cant fault the cruise. food and staff were wonderful.
Shows were mediocre. Disappointed with the entertainment.
We went Britannia club as we ...
Hey honey--I got tickets to Springsteen on Broadway--can we sail on Queen Mary 2?
That's how this voyage began...
We sailed on the five day portion of this itinerary--from NY to Saint John, New Brunswick, to Boston for the 4th of July, and back to NY. We were "trying out" the Queen Mary 2 with the idea of a world cruise in 2021. Five days is nothing like 113 days, of course, but we still ...
We choose the QM2 because we wanted to experience a Cunard cruise as well as the QM2 itself, being such a well-known ship, with so much history and sense of luxury. That it had from the start to the last day. While not avid cruisers, we would consider this ship for another adventure.
We started with the option of arrival the day before staying in NYC at the Knickerbocker Hotel on Times Square, ...
I wanted to be in NY-Baltimore to meet with friends and managed to get a single cabin (might have been a cancellation as none available when I first looked) on just the right date.
I celebrated my 70th birthday in 2017--and this trip was a belated birthday present to myself.
This voyage was on my bucket list and was also my first time on a liner.
I enjoyed everything about it (except for ...
Since this is the first time we had ever been on a cruise ship, we have nothing to compare it to. Crossing was from Southampton to Brooklyn. We were totally delighted with the food, professionalism of the staff, the gala events, dressing up for dinner each night, the entertainment. My husband took the WSET wine certificate course and is awaiting his score. We took the cocktails seminar and it ...
My husband and myself had never sailed with Cunard before and were worried that maybe we would feel out of place. We didn't have to worry as we met so many friendly people. I have read some other reviews on here and think that I must have been on a different ship. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and very funny. We certainly were not pestered by bar staff to buy drinks. If you don't ...
For a 150,000 tons size with only 3,000 passengers onboard, you will never feel over crowded on that ship. Its the most stable ship for people who are prone to motion sickness. Staff smile and greet us every time. Top notch service, food, and space.
Live entertainment every night in their signature Queens Room, the largest hard wood dance floor amongst any ship. Both male and female dance ...
