Many years ago, while dining al fresco at a Rome cafe, I was startled by beggars going from table to table seeking money from customers.
Imagine the sense of deja-vu then, while sitting at lunch in the buffet, a staff member is walking from table to table trying to elicit attendance at the specialty dining restaurants.
This in some ways explains the culture of this cruise:
#Low entry ...
I choose to go on a cruise due to everyone saying what a great time and quality of food you get and as I am in remission from cancer I thought that this would be a great way to relax and be pampered how wrong can one be first the port we were told to get to was wrong we had to get a second taxi to the correct port then on boarding we were told that the lunch was in the ocean view restaurant but as ...
This is our 1st Celebrity cruise, but it was my 11th overall. Definitely did not live up to my expectations. Since the ship was refurbished, we expected it to be nicer, unfortunately it was such a disappointment.
Cabin: we booked a concierge class. heat was broken. it was so cold. We called service desk and no one picked up the phone, so we went down to guest service desk & it took them about ...
The name of the game here is from embarkation to disembarkation "SELL SELL SELL". Penny pinching and extremely bad value for money.
Travelled Aqua Class - very poor experience - services advised in this class did not happen!
AMENITIES:
Robe - don't other cabins have robes?
Wine Classes - never happened!
Hair Dryer - Don't other cabins have Hair driers?
STATEROOM ...
The Millennium is going in for a redo in January. It should have gone in already. Celebrity should never have sailed it. The ship is in terrible shape, the food especially at night in the main dining room is poor. From the salads to the main courses it tastes like they've been on the plate for a long time and just reheated. I have never sailed Celebrity before and won't again. We should all get a ...
We choose the cruise because we liked the itinerary. We knew the vessel was an older one, but once on board, all was big disappointment.
The vessel is really old, carpet torn/ chairs and tables dirty, in one word scruffy.
Staff was rude and not helpfull and food was cold, on the end we went to the ocean view restaurant to have fresh made pasta or stir fry.
The so called Captain made joke ...
My neighbors invited us to travel with them. They have traveled with Celebrity before and apologized for the experience agreeing it was a terrible experience from the room steward to the dinner steward, the food and everything in between. The service on the ship was terrible; leave for breakfast and 2-3 hours later the stateroom wasn’t made, yet the steward was always smiling. The food was worse ...
We have cruised over 30 times and this is the worst cruise I have ever been on. We had a concierge class cabin that was in awful shape. The balcony was all rust and I wouldn’t put my hands on anything. The bathroom smelled like a sewer. The decorative pillows and throw were disgusting. We were locked out of our room for over 1/2 hour until security finally showed up and used a key to open the ...
We had sailed on Celebrity before but not on the Millennium. We wanted to go to China, Korea and Japan. We were really looking forward to it.
As soon as we got on the ship- we were very disappointed to see the outdated and dull decor. It was actually depressing- like a cheap motel. Only four stores on board when we expected more.
The interior of the main restaurant was dark and also out ...
We booked through an online travel agent who advertised this cruise on Celebrity Millennium. The ship, they said, was "refurbished in 2016". After reading this, I would have expected the whole ship was refurbished or otherwise it should have read...partial refurbishment. But no it did not mention exactly what had been refurbished. We took it on good faith and booked a 14 day cruise around ...
