10 night cruise to Hawaii worth the reduced fare.

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Booked this cruise for my 20th anniversary. Just me and my wife on this journey across the Pacific...... Traveled up to Vancouver as we live in Seattle. Would certainly say we waited in line longer to get on this ship than most. Lots of confusion by staff which contributed to the lengthy boarding process. Ship was nice, nothing to complain about. Our room was very big for an inside cabin, ...

40th Anniversary Cruise

Prior to this cruise we had sailed only on Royal Caribbean. We have always heard that Celebrity was a great cruise line and being under the umbrella of RC we thought we would choose it for our special anniversary. Royal had a couple of ships sailing during that time but the itinerary that Solstice was offering was the selling feature and the price quoted for a Verandah cabin was also a reason ...

Great Ship, Food, Facilities; 18 Nights Too Long

We boarderd in Sydney , and thanks to the Concierge class , we had a shorter line to embark. Found the ship to be luxurious , beds super comfortable and the staff most attentive. The stateroom with a balcony was a great assett. Food on the ship was of an excellent quality and the specialty restaurants Murano,Silk Harvets and Tuscan were well worth paying the additional $us 99.00 per person ...

Had a great time, but.......

Well this was our first cruise on Celebrity (first two on RCL) and our longest cruise. It also had by far the most amount of sea days, so we were curious on how this would play-out. Unfortunately the friends who put us onto the trip cancelled prior to departure, so it could have been a long, long trip. Starting at the beginning, the embarkation was reasonably painless, we were aware that you ...

Great Trip with a few glitches

This trip was over a year in planning and it was the first time we were on a Celebrity Cruise. We are in our mid 50's and were traveling with another couple. Embarkation was very easy and smooth as we were in a Sky Suite (2125), however there were no lines at all for any room type when we boarded. We went to the Ocean View Cafe for lunch and were able to find a seat. Shortly after they announced ...

Fine cruise but has Celebrity slipped a bit?

My wife and I are experienced cruisers (about 18-19 thus far, and include all the mainstream cruise lines). We were looking forward to this trip, as we had never been to Hawaii, and are getting older, making the long flight from the east coast more taxing. Overall, we certainly had a very good time. The ship is elegant, in an understated way; lots of chrome, glass, and neutral colors. The ...

Third World Embarkation Experience, Good Cruise

Everything you have read about the San Diego to Ensenada transfer on Cruise Critic is true, but probably understated. It was the main topic of conversation at the Cruise Critic RollCall get-together, when the cruise director asked for comments or questions. Try to imagine being in a giant warehouse with 2,000 other people, with one set of bathrooms, no signs telling people where to check in, no ...

Loved Hawaii but Celebrity let me down

My background: my 7th cruise, 3rd with Celebrity. Most recently on the Silhouette in Dec 2102. I'm mid 40s, cruised with my 80 year old mother and a couple of friends. Embarkation: because of Cruise Critic I knew to arrive well before noon for check-in. We arrived around 11:00 and we got number 40 since we were not elite and were not in concierge, aqua or a suite. We were told it would be a short ...

Embarkation Getting on board was fine for my wife and me. We followed advice from previous reviews to try to show up early and be on one of the early buses from the San Diego cruise terminal to Ensenada. Calling the Celebrity phone line, the call center agent said check-in would start 12 noon. We showed up a little after 10:30 am and check-in had started already. We eventually boarded the ship by ...

Nice Ship, crew not trained well

It started with the meet and greet at the airport, we finally found the greeters and it felt like we were bothering them. they were short with answers and we had to ask passengers how to get the bus to the pier. There was no greeter at the bus stand to ensure you got the right bus. very confusing and frustrating. At the pier the welcomers were not helpful as my mom needs assistance with a ...
