We had booked this cruise 2 years ago and were very excited when the time finally arrived to go to Antarctica. We spent 3 nights in Buenos Aires beforehand and enjoyed our time there. Embarkation was straightforward, our inside cabin on deck 8 was ready quite early, we had lunch at Oceanview Cafe after we dropped off our things. The food there was very good as it was for the whole cruise.
We of ...
Celebrity Infinity review Feb 18-March 4 2018
We have just returned from the Infinity Antarctic cruise Feb 18. Overall, this was an amazing cruise. We began the planning almost 4 years ago ( we scheduled on a 2016 sailing but had to postpone for (good) family reasons). After that long, it was hard to believe that the time had arrived! About 3 weeks before sailing we were notified by Celebrity ...
We wanted to go to see penguins and visit Antarctic. We were informed by Celebrity 7 days before departure that the ship was having propulsion issues, but we were not allowed to cancel the cruise. We ended up missing 2 and 1/2 ports. There were only four ports of call. We did go to Antarctic, which was great, but we missed seeing any Rookeries for the penguins. This was very disappointing. ...
This was supposed to be a trip of a life time, booked over 2 years ago.
But its prove to be anything but. We were notified 5 days before departure that "due to a technical issue with the ship's propulsion system, as a precaution, we will have to reduce our maximum speed by a few knots". This meant they cancelled the stop to Puerto Madryn (penguins). We received the princely sum of £131 ...
Our cruise to Antarctica was a truly amazing experience onboard Celebrity Infinity. Everything about our cruise and the destinations were wonderful. The service and the crew were great. We loved the ship and found it to be so much better than the growning and moaning reviews of so many. I would sail on her again in a heartbeat and in fact we are for the next two weeks. We feel so fortunate to have ...
Chose Antarctica as the trip of a lifetime. Was a totally awful experience :
1. Ship had only one azapod so 72 hours pre-departure we were informed the itinerary was changing as the ship was unable to travel at full speed. 14 day itinerary and we lost one of only four land stops. We are due compensation of 1/14th of the cruise cost but this has not been received yet. Worth noting that the ship ...
We wanted to see Antarctica and some ports of call in South America and Mulvenas Is. This was offered by the cruise on CC Infinity.
Just before we left Celebrity cancelled Pt Madryn because the vessel was under-powered. What CC did not tell us was that Infinity had been operating for some time under-powered. The whole cruise ran late from the start and Celebrity knew that it would. it reached ...
I would like to describe our (my wife and me) cruise experience in some details. I hope it helps people to select, or not, this specific cruise itinerary, cruise ship and even the cruise line for future trips.
Just a trip overview, we booked a veranda cabin, deck 8, in the Celebrity Infinity, for the Buenos Aires > Puerto Madryn > Ushuaia > Antartica (Paradise Bay and Elephant Island) > ...
This was our third cruise to the Antarctica and our first ever cruise with Celebrity.
It started out badly when a week before our sailing date we received an email from the company advising that due to trouble with one of the ships thrusters and subsequent need to reduce cruising speeds the itinerary had to be changed. Accordingly the stop at Porto Madryn was dropped and the times and schedules ...
First I just want to say that this was, I think, our 26th cruise. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had on a “bucket list” trip. About a week prior to sail date receive message from Celebrity that Puerto Madryn cancelled due to propulsion on the ship. Received close to 1/14th of cruise cost on our credit card to give us one day credit. That was 1 of 4 ports that we now will miss. By the ...
