Have had previous cruises with carnival but unfortunately this one was well below the standard of those.Embarkation was undisciplined and chaotic, most would have been given a specific boarding time but it appeared no one took notice of it, board as soon as possible. No organisation of crowd.
Washing machines in the laundry was another dogs breakfast with only 1 machine available for 3000 ...
The splendour has been in Singapore for a re fit. Apparently millions spent on it.would like to know where. Tiniest room we have ever had on a cruise 7416. cannot pass each other. if your in your wardrobe beware of toilet door knocking you out. we have come from NZ to join her for the repositioning to Sydney. Well got off 1 1/2 hours late but that was ok rooms were ready cases there by the time we ...
went on this cruise as it was repositioning and bringing Splendor to Australia for it's inaugural season. I travelled with a group of friends who also love to cruise.
We enjoyed it very much even with the teething problems which were soon sorted.
Cruise Director Lee was fabulous and worked so hard for the entire trip....always a pleasure to be around.
Entertainment was great.....shows ...
I wanted to try the new ship and join her to come to Sydney From Singapore, I stayed in cabin 7276 Interior, This was not a nice cabin, the bed shook all night long as it was next door to the electrical room,Hardly any sleep. The cabins are a good size, I went solo but this cabin would be for a triple. Food in the Bistro area, was very plain and same nearly every day which is a shame as variety ...
This was the trip that brought the Splendor to Australia so my fist comments will be on the ships suitability to that market. I am a fan of Carnival being a Platinum Cruiser (I am for Princess as well) but not a fan of this ship for the new home, its just a poor fit. We are used to the Spirit and Legend so I compare on that basis,
Lido is to small, every cruise to and from Sydney generally ...
As a family foursome travelling in 2 cabins we joined the Carnival Splendor in Singapore for a 15 night relocation cruise back to Sydney after a multi million dollar refit in Singapore.
The ship which caters for more than 3000 passengers is the largest Carnival ship to be home ported in Sydney.
Passengers were confused in trying to move from one end of the ship to the other as there were ...
The Carnival Splendor has been given a makeover and spruced up a bit so as to operate out of Australia.
A paint job and some new furniture cannot alter the fact that it has some really hideous decor. Attempts have been made to disguise some of it. The corridors and cabins are okay but the main areas where the designers (who must have been on drugs) were really let loose would require ripping ...
We chose this cruise for the cheap price that was offered at the time of booking. It was disappointing from start to finish. The embarcation was a shamozole. No one seemed to know what they were doing. The food in the buffet section was very ordinary to some other ships we have been on. The lines were long and you had to be lucky to find a seat to sit down on. I will say that the restaurant's are ...
This was a repositioning cruise from Singapore to Sydney, which hubby and I chose, to relax and refresh before the Christmas mayhem. First, the good points: our cabin stewards, and the rest of the waiters etc were fabulous. The food was also of good quality and lots of variety.
However, it was all mainly downhill from there, with the embarkation process giving us an indication of what was to ...
I chose this cruise to go to Komodo Island.
On boarding I found my cabin (no one giving directions at all) upon entering what was supposed to be a wheelchair cabin I found I could not access the toliet as the beds blocked the way. Contacted room steward and was told someone would come sort it out it took 7 hours before someone arrived not to sort it out but to ask if I wanted my room done ...
